Loved playing here! Booked through GolfNow app and when I arrived, they said it wasn’t very busy, it’s getting too hot for the cart girl and it will rain in about 2.5 hours. So I grabbed my cart and didn’t bother warming up. I wanted to get in as much as possible in the time I had before bad weather arrived. They have a practice putting green and a range right by the club, with balls available at no charge. There is an ice and water machine on the right, at the turn, between the pro shop and the course. I filled up my cooler with ice.

I checked in with the starter at 12:50 and he started me on hole 10. Apparently there was some work being done on the front 9 that would be finished up by the time I got there.

I encountered a group of two ladies on hole 2, that let me pass. Then, a couple that had taken a break when they thought bad weather was coming, pulled up and passed me to continue their round. I eventually caught up with them and they let me pass. The single ahead of them also let me pass. I got stuck behind a group of four me. Who finished the hole and had gotten started on a par 3 and I opted to pass them. From then on, I was at my own pace. I finished 18 holes in 2 hours and 1 minute. That’s a record for me.

They have many tee boxes with great signage. I played from the reds, so not quite the front tees.

The course was absolutely gorgeous and in pretty good shape! I loved the nature sightings. There is a lot of water on the course. Played a solid round here, getting 85. The 17th hole was my absolute favorite. Blind shot to the green and I made it!!!!!

I will be back to play again. Staff were nice. Get in before 5, because you can play late but you gotta get checked in before they close.

I had played this course several years ago and was very disappointed in the condition of the course. I was apprehensive in playing it again as it is not the cheapest around and didn’t want to spend that kind of money if the conditions were bad again. Thankfully this time around the course was in playable condition. The greens rolled smooth and were in good shape. The fairways were in acceptable condition with a few problem areas but nothing that would hinder your round. I was pleasantly surprised and will look to play a round in the future there.

This BJ golf course is phenomenal not far from St. Armands Circle and downtown Sarasota . Greens r nice and fast. The course conditions were excellent. The fairways were lush well maintained providing consistent lies. And staff was friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed it. But do need ice machines along the way for hot summer days.

Riverwood is a beautifully laid out golf course. So many great visual holes. Its in excellent condition on the tee boxes and fairways. Greens had been airated and sanded. They still played well, and they are very small greens. Fairways can be tight, there is trouble on every hole. I played my best golf and shot well for me at an 84 with 1 blowup hole. Being in the afternoon in Florida the course was not busy, so my playing partner and I got the round done in about 3 hours after the rain delay. Staff was super friendly and very pleasant. I booked this round through GolfNow and got a discounted price. Id pay that price anytime to play this track. Otherwise its too steep for me to play on a regular basis. Its definitely worth playing!!! I'll be back to this track, when the price is right for me. Thoroughly enjoyed this golf course.

Nice course , in a bunch of old growth plants,trees and Okefenokee swamp really neat cruising around definitely a different look

Golf now should have posted that it was under repair and that the entire course had been rated not just one or two holes the entire course

This is a great golf course but to charge full summer rate when greens and fairways have just been aerated, hole # 15 was closed for maintenance and the course was soaked due to recent rain, is a bit unfair.

Very nice course, if you’re not pretty decent then I wouldn’t recommend. Not for the beginner, you will lose quite a few balls if you can’t hit straight.

Love the layout and course amenities. Like every course this time of year you'll have to play through greens and irrigation maintenance activities. I'll be back soon.
