Course was soaked. Mowers ripped up fairways and rough. GREENS ARE HORRIBLE

I don’t think it was the fault of the owners
But we have had a ton of rain in the last few weeks So the greens were somewhat slow
And the course was a little mucky but I would play it again

The course is nothing special. Greens, tees, and fairways are good but nothing great. Staff is friendly and happy to help. If you are looking for the warm-up course this is your layout. Based on the price it worth a look.

For someone who has shared course reviews for many years a visit to Club Med-Sandpiper Bay presented a very difficult dilemma. First the good and the staff was very good. Super friendly and we shared a few laughs. There were workers all over the course trying to improve the conditions which weren't that bad. Tee boxes were decent & that is a big plus in my book. Level and enough turf to get a good start off your hole.
Now we come to the not so good. In talking with the pro shop before taking the hour + ride south I was informed that they had some rain over the weekend but nothing major. Playing the course there were no standing puddles or anything to suggest otherwise. The point I'm coming to is why in the world did they have to soak the fairways (and 50% of the greens) with an enormous amount of water from the sprinklers. 3-4 holes I had to take a fairway shot with the sprinklers soaking me down as I shot. I needed to keep 7-10 balls handy to play a dry, clean ball when I could. NO ball washers anywhere on the course. I was fortunate not to lose any balls but found 3-4 in the middle of a fairway where they were plugged. I'm not a long hitter anyway so not getting any roll due to saturated conditions really killed my game. There also were times where one shot was fairly dry and the next plugged and muddy. I'm no superintendent but why can't you water a course after hours or at the very least when there is down time. Mid day is not the time to be wetting your players (which there weren't many of). One other area of concern was the extremely slow condition of the greens. A couple of times I wanted to put with a low iron to get a decent roll. Layout is good and the fairways were decent and in good shape IF you could get a good shot.
If I had to give a grade I would give a C and possibly others have enjoyed their round if conditions were favorable. I could see how that would happen. The Club Med grounds are older and showing some serious age. I won't be back there for some time as there are so many beautiful courses in the area that provide such a better experience. Sorry staff, wish I could have given a more favorable review.

We got a great deal on Golfnow, 17.50 per player. Realized I played this course before when on a trip this way.

We played at noon, very few players and we finished in 3 1/2 hours, which is decent time. The layout is good, lots of tee blocks to pick from.

The only real disappointment were the greens. Way too long, like putting on a fairway. The only decent green was #9 because it was newer and obviously worked on a lot.

We still had a good day, but wouldn’t put this course as a must replay, regardless of the good price we got. Hopefully they cut the greens soon.

Nice course, nice layout, green slow in the front nine , fast in the back nine . Would recommend to my friends.Staff very friendly

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly through bag up, shop and starter.
Fairly bunkered. Greens in good condition but slow.

The greens and tee boxes need a lot of work.
All bunkers were unplayable due to water.
Pace of play was great because we were the only ones there.
Course was wet due to rain the night before.
Only paid $10.00 to play so can't really complain.

The course is in very good conditions was a nice experience plenty of peace and comfort!!!

This is our home course. It is in very good shape, however the greens are way too slow.

Great course to play with courteous staff. Fun layout and well maintained fairways and greens.

Need some water stations. Only water is at the start clubhouse. So you can't get water till you play 9 holes

I have played this course many times over the last year. I have seen strides to improve the course conditions. It takes time. The fairways have improved a lot do to the attention and all the rains we are having.. They have killed the weeds and continue to sand the greens and aerate them in an effort to get them back in shape. They are very slow and don't run true do to the weed kills and blotchy spots. That being said they are trying to improve them and it is working. Very few players on the course so play at your own speed.
