Seminole course review
Course was in better shape this time. Still tee boxes are not flat enough as are the greens.
Amenities
Happy with the course not Happy that the club house is closed in the summer would like to sit down and have a few drinks and something to eat when I'm done playing also need more restrooms
Friendly staff- fun course
Fairways neatly mowed and ball sits up well with little hard pan. Rough not too bad. Some greens showing areas of burn-out and are firm . Many greens are sloped sharply on fronts and sides so exercise caution when chipping and putting. Staff are courteous and friendly. Fun course.
Seminole golf course review
Some areas new better care. The T boxes need some attention. Several greens have to much “dome” to them. Edges of the green have too much gap.
2nd time out!
Greens were small and had fungal dead zones in June. Still a fun course with a few water hazards if you can't hit the ball in the air. The staff were friendly and gas carts ran fine. Hit it straight and you will have a good score. If you don't you won't.
Very disappointing
The course was not in good condition at all. Both the fairway and the greens had bare patches. And the greens were very bumpy and hard as a rock. Chip shots and even putts just rolled forever. Most of the greens were humped in the middle. On approaches to the green, if you didn't land right in the middle, the ball always rolled off the green and down a very steep hill, possibly into a sand trap. Then you were forced to pitch to a rock hard green about 5-10 feet above you. I tried hitting into the bank to pop it up but that almost never worked. And the sand traps did not have much sand in them, not just myself but my partners also hit numerous sand shots way over the green because the club just bounced off the sand, or maybe I should call it dirt. I won't ever be going back again.
Played this course as a foursome
We played as a foursome, we hit from the first tee its was going great, then we arrived on the green and you wanna talk about a garbage job, either they are lacking grounds keepers or they just don’t give a crap about there course, but the greens were crap by the time we got to the 4 hole I was completely disappointed with the entire course from the greens to the terrible job on the up keep of the fairways, i will 100% NEVER play this course again even if its a freebie, do yourself a favor an save ur money an go play somewhere else, if i lived in that community and had to pay a percentage to that course id be embarrassed
Fun little course
The course was in pretty decent shape, some greens had a few rough spots but overall it was in good shape..The greens are some of the more difficult greens that I have played in the Charlotte Co ,Sarasota county courses as they have a lot of roller coaster greeens and a few that are basically a dome shape.. The greens are very fast.. People are great and the pace of play was great!!
Worst I've seen it
I have played Seminole Lakes at least once if not twice a week for the last 2 years. I have seen a slow steady decline in the condition of the course over this time. I used to love the fast greens and challenging hills and valleys of the greens. Some of the greens are so fast and undulating that if you miss them in the wrong spot good luck. The greens are now very bumpy and there are several that have areas that the turf is dead.
I feel that ownership needs to put more money into the course.. the bunkers are in desperate need of sand. Many of the of them are almost easier to putt from . They added several new carts only to find that they were only leased for the peak season. Now we can be expected to used the older carts owned by the course. I hate to be critical but we just went through season and the course was packed. Only the maintenance and restaurant staff are paid the rangers and starters get compensation of free golf. Odd that this course which I started playing when we moved here 2 years ago is suffering
