Great Course
Very good conditions, a few bare spots in the fairways, greens are great and rolled true. Beautiful long range mountain views.
Great Course and Friendly Staff!
Played Crystal Falls for the first time yesterday, and what a great day it was. For late March, it was unsusually cold in the upper 50's, but with bright blue skies and light wind. Course was in great shape, with only a few wet areas coming out of winter playing conditions. I was paired with a member of the club who knew the course, and was extremely helpful with sight lines and targets. Some of the holes play very long with considerable forced carries to get to the fairway, but the greens allowed for adequate areas to hit to for up and downs. No real "gimmicky" holes, but 16 was the closest. Long uphill tee shot with very little room for error with your approach shot. All in all, it was a great day at this hidden gem. Very much recommend this course.
My local favorite
There are about 20 courses within 40 miles of Ellijay and I've played six of them so far. Crystal Falls is my favorite. Almost every hole invites you to "go for it" from the tee, which I like.
Not member for a day
Third time I have played here. First two experiences were good, third time was frustrating at best. There was a frost delay and the tee box was backed up, which is to be accepted. The starter told us (my brother and I) that they were about to catch up and we would go off "soon". We were there on a hot deal. He said we were playing with two others, the hot deal was sold out. So, the other two had to be the other "hot dealers". Well, our tee time came and went, several groups went out The starter told us we were going out soon, again , but one of the players had not arrived yet, say what.? He arrived in a few minutes, we were introduced and all seemed well. We were about 25 minutes past our tee time at this point, which was about what we were told to expect. Then, out of no where the starter told us the twosome we we going to play with was being sent out ahead of us with another member ( they were all members). The other two hot deal players were long gone. We finally got off at about 45 minutes past out tee time. On my first visit we were guests, and the starter (a different starter) verbally displayed a distain for what he called "hot dealers", and that he would always make them wait on their tee time, not matter what. The second time was a hot deal, and we teed off one time( not sure which starter was there). So, no one likes to be treated like a second class player. Espically when the club calls you a "member for a day" , not. It is a really good course, just be aware your experience before you go out might not be so good, if you are a "hot dealer".
hidden gem
A great course No houses , all golf very fun cannot wait till spring & summer golf It is out of the way, but a $25 hot deal, with a 4.7 rating a must play.........
Great North Georgia Course
it's a must play in the north Georgia area. Bent greens are fast and true. Well maintained course. One of my favorite in the area.
Beautiful Facility
This is really a top notch golf facility!.....terrific course with a lot of really good golf holes!......I'm sure when the community is built out it will become fully private but for the present time I look forward to returning and playing often!!
Great condition for late December
Course overall in great condition for mid-winter. Greens were very consistent
Duffer
I have played this course many times and always enjoy the experience. The course is challenging and the greens are always quick. The staff was very helpful as usual. This is a course I routinely recommend to friends who have not yet played it.
Worth the drive
You will enjoy playing Crystal Falls. The greens are in great shape, the course is a challenging and the practice area is very good.
Delightful surprise
This is a course that lives up to its course rating. There are others in the area that have 4+ star ratings and aren't nearly as nice as this one. Regular tee times (when you can get them) have free range balls and Hot Deals have an additional $5 charge for unlimited balls which was very fair. Practice area was more than adequate. The course had a great layout. In my opinion it had very respectable amounts of length, contour, hazards, and green size. Nothing stuck out to me as evil.
Relative to the amount of traffic the course had, I was amazed at how good of shape it was in. Condition of fairways, rough, and greens in late fall were still very good.
If Golf Now allowed it, I would give this course a 4.5 star rating. Since they don't, this course is definitely closer to a five then a four. I'll be telling my friends to try it out.
The course had great views
Since this was my first time to use golfnow.com and my first time to play this course I wasvery impressed with the course. Had a great time!
One of the best courses North
On a par with Woodmont, but slightly more challenging layout. And less crowded, although that could be a function of the time of year/weather. Great practice area, large putting green and all of the holes are engaging. Love the layout, although 16 had a really tight landing area - borderline unfair in the winter with the roll...
Good Course
Played here a number of times. Always in good condition.
First time, won't be the last
Excellent from start to finish. The layout, the staff, the greens were all top notch. Looking forward to returning soon with a group.
great golf experience
When we checked in the pro told u a that the course was in great shape and the greens were excellent..if we played bad we needed a therapist ...he was right.
Wonderful Course!
Its a bit of a drive, but worth it. Very nicely kept course. Greens and fairways were great. Wish I took pictures to show. Would play there again when I have the time to drive that far.
Great time
Very nice course. It has its challenges but is one that you can score well on. The greens are amazing.
Take your range finder.
Best North Georgia course
Always watch for the opportunity to play Crystal Falls. Even though private, they open it up at times to public, which you must take advantage of. Great test of golf, great conditions always, and the course has never let me down. If you get a chance, play it! The best north Georgia golf course I have ever played.
