Whitehawk
Great course for the money. Narrow fairways, sometimes hard to find your ball in the fairway because the ball sinks in the soft grass, good amount of water and sand hazards to keep you on top of your game. A few burnt greens, but most if them are kept well. Grill is ok, staff is friendly and will give you course conditions before you play. Carts are nice. Course we'll kept for the most part. Overall, good value for the money. Have played a couple times, will probably go back and play again.
The heat is taking it's toll
I played here for the first time after about a two month hiatus. The conditions the last time I played were pretty good. The greens were a little soft, but the fairways and tee boxes were in very good shape. This time, not so much. It's obvious the heat the last few weeks is taking it's toll. The greens on twelve and thirteen have nearly completely burned off and were about 75-80% bare dirt. The other greens were in decent shape, but they were very soft and slow and crabgrass has started to infiltrate them making rolling good putts hard at times. Some of the fairways, mainly on the back nine, are starting to burn up in areas were the irrigation is obviously not as good. A few of the tee boxes, especially on the back, are being mowed up pretty high, likely in an attempt to shade the bermuda. That makes is tough to hit an iron off the tee considering you're hitting out of what is basically a first cut of rough. It was still an enjoyable round, but I won't be back until it cools off and the course conditions get back to where they normally are.
Fix a few greens...
It looked like they were in the process of resodding some of the greens or are in need of redoing them because there are several that have some ugly burns or dead areas on them. Other than that the course played very nicely and was a challenge. Front 9 is different than the back 9 which made for an interesting day.
Great course, slow play
Course was in really good condition. Course fee included 18 holes with cart along with free range balls and lunch ticket. Great value for the money. Tee boxes and fairways in great shape. Greens on front nine in excellent shape. Greens on the back nine showing obvious stress due to the heat. Not uncommon for courses in this area during the peak of summer. Some very challenging holes midway through the front nine that causes a bottleneck in pace of play. Marshall was spot on in checking with all groups to try to keep everyone moving. Despite his efforts the pace of play was agonizingly slow. Course appeared to be at capacity or even over-booked. Would recommend that tee times be spread further apart. It took our group over 5 hours to complete a Friday morning round. Will definitely come back, hopefully taking a little less time to get a round in.
Fairs way nice but...
Greens were worst I've ever seen...anywhere!!! Haven't played in over 2 years but entire course conditions have declined. Range is like hitting out of rough. Tee boxes look like par 3 boxes at a first timers course. Greens on back side are nearly unputtable.
All the rain
With all the rain how do you lose greens on back nine.. you do grow weed on the greens well
The course has great features
The front nine doesn't really prepare you for the back nine, a good surprise for the first time player of the course. The pro shop employees are friendly and knowledgeable. The parking is a bit odd as the layout has you parking opposite of the clubhouse and the carts.
Don't see how it got bad reviews
In great shape and fairly challenging. A lot of folks out there but to be expected on a Friday. This course is nice and a great value at under $30.
nice course
very wet from severe storms day before, club house charged me $4 more than golfnow showed that I owed but course was very nice for the money
Good South Tulsa Public
Played on a busy Holiday and while the pace was slow (to be expected) and it was a packed course, I had a blast for my first time and will definitely be back. Tee to green conditioning was solid, greens were receptive but ran slow and could have played firmer/faster.
Fun layout with varied hole lengths, and playing from the Golds (~6500) for the first time was fair, tips next go round for sure... If you don't have a local, use a rangefinder to gauge doglegs / hazard carries.
Got the round for $37 all in, but they threw in range balls and a burger combo. Also, they make some solid cocktails in the clubhouse and the manager noted a replay rate is only $10.
Definitely will travel back from NWA for 36 later in the season!
Fun Course
Front 9 is open and back 9 is tight. Fun course overall. Only complaint is that a few of the greens were a bit chewed up.
Nice, yet challenging.
This was my first time to play this course. The scenery is nice and the course conditions were excellent! Accuracy off the tee is very important on most holes because of the proximity of trees, water hazards, and strategically placed fairway bunkers. The greens were in very good shape and we're pretty consistent with speed throughout the course. I would definitely recommend this course for value and would classify it as above average in difficulty and condition. I will play here again soon.
Good Day
Course was in great shape but there were little details missed that caused confusion. 1st there were several tee boxes where the intermediate set of tees were even or behind the tips. Not sure why and they created some slow down for intermediate players because the hole became infinitely harder with the current course conditions. This happened on 2 already difficult par 3s. The only other issue I had was that the practice green and the greens on course ran at very different speeds. If I had to guess the course greens ran 1-1.5 less in a stimpmeter which made figuring out the speeds while playing. My partners and I said that practicing putting beforehand was pointless with the greens doing this. The fairways were hard so lots of roll. But again the collars and run ups were wet, sometimes mushy, and eliminated any sort of bump and run plays where the shot called for it. Tee boxes were so hard it was really difficult to get a tee in the ground.
tee box
all tee boxes on the white hawk course were extremely dry, very difficult to get a tee into the ground. often had to tee up out of the teeing area.
Nice Course
Everything great about the course but didn't know about or like the $9.95 online fee I had to pay for a reservation.
Nice Course
My only complaint was the "rider fee" they made my buddy and I pay when our wives decided to ride along at the last second. $24 combined to ride around a course in a golf cart. Made the outing $50+ per person for 18 with a cart.
Other than that the course was in great condition even though the weather outside was dreary and it had been raining all day up to that point.
Food in the clubhouse was just okay.
Played pretty fast. Not a great golfer but we did 18 in 3.5 hours without ever feeling rushed.
Excellent Course
I play at White Hawk pretty often and the course is always in good shape. Considering the way the weather has been the course is in good shape. Great course to get loose on the front and take on the more challenging back. Always fun to play this course.
Nice Course
On a beautiful Sunday afternoon, the course was packed. It was still soggy from yesterday's rain, so cart path only, which made it especially slow. Other than that- course in good shape, friendly staff, nice way to spend a day.
Much Improved
Had excellent weather for early February. The course is much improved over some years in the past. Greens rolled really smoothly, and tee boxes and fairways were in excellent condition. Many golfers playing ahead of us however failed to repair ball marks on greens during this round. Back nine is more challenging due to tree/creek lined fairways. Enjoyable course with plenty of challenges.
