Overal good experience
I really like this course! It has
more under construction areas than I would prefer but overall great course.
The staff was nice enough and the facilities were great. I'm surprised they don't have a restroom out on the course somewhere. The porter potties were gross.
Great course but, beware!
The course is great, very challenging, However I say beware of the staff at check in. They failed to honor the price quoted from golf now at check in, and then proceeded to argue the point with me. It was only 7 dollars, which isn't that big of a deal to me, but it is the principal of it! Why would I book online with golf now if I didn't expect them to honor the price given???? I was told by the person at check in that was just the wrong price, I was mistaken, even though I took the printed reservation with the total with me. I seriously question if I will play there again.
Good Public Course
Played it many times before. There was a high school tourney that day. Course did their best to keep it from slowing us down. It's your typicall $35 golf course. I enjoy it even more when I get a deal on GolfNow. Greens were a little slow for my taste but in good shape. Looks like they are doing a little bunker work. One of my top five metro courses.
Not bad
Course was good. I probably wouldn't pay much more than the $20 we paid but this is a good course. The pro shop was having computer issues so we stood at the counter for awhile and then paid at the turn. But it was ok.
For late fall, the course was in good shape.
The greens were in great shape and the fairways however dormant had consistent grass throughout. I would have given it a 5 star but there were a handful of fairway bunkers that didn't have sand in them and were virtually un-hittable from them as they needed to be ground up or something. I ended up just taking my ball out of them.
good course for the price
Greens were in good condition. Tee boxes, within the markers, were uneven and in below average condition
Good
Enjoy this course each time I play. 2 of my buddies had eagles the day we played!
Nice course layout, conditions ok
First time to play Whitehawk, i was expecting more than what i got. I loved the course layout, not too long from the mens tees, allowed for playing multiple shots into the greens. the condition of the greens were below average. There were weeds growing in the greens and it was like putting on fuzzy sand.
The pro shop personnel were nice and very friendly, i usually pick up a shirt from new courses i play and while they didn't have any sale racks i did find a shirt i had to have.
For the price i paid ($16), i cant complain too much but i did drive 90 miles to play.
The course just needs a little TLC on the greens and all will be well.
Cost not reflective
They had been working on the greens, but the cost was not reflective of where the course was at. If your product is not up to par, charge a bogey price.... Also, the grounds crew was highly irritating, they did not replace markers after mowing and did not get off greens when we were ready to approach.
Could be good if...
The driving range needs some distance markers that actually match the key stone. (Had them years ago but for some strange reason won't take the time to replace the missing markers-what a shame as it's such a simple task-just lazy i suppose) The rough has piled tracks of grass from too infrequent mowing. (Don't blame the rain White Hawk- it's been dry for over 2 weeks) several bunkers that have been "under construction" for years. (Finish them or fill them in guys) the pond on hole #4 wreaks like a sewer. the greens are the worst I've ever played on. Weed ridden and just eaten up. (Not just those in the middle of the back nine as in years past. # 2 is just aweful). It's as if the course management have just given up. What a shame because the course has so much potential and natural beauty. Get with it White Hawk. Stop taking advantage of your clients.
Great layout, horrible greens
I really like the layout of this course. It is challenging and fun. Unfortunately the greens are horrible. They are so soft that when I hit a sand wedge from 100 yards high in the air, it plugged in the green and only half the ball was showing. Every time you hit the green you take a mssive divot. All the repair marks are taking it's toll on the greens. Putting is a joke. If they ever fix these greens it would be an awesome track to play.
Nice course layout.
Course is in decent shape. You could tell we've had lots of rain in the past couple of weeks. The grass has grown at a high rate and in a lot of areas they couldn't mow because it was to wet. some areas has been recently mowed and there was quite a bit of grass clipping on the ground. The greens are in decent shape, I wish other golfers would make a point of repairing the ball marks on the greens, I repaired around 5 per hole.
Good lay out and could be a really good course with some investment on the back nine greens.
Good lay out and could be a really good course with some investment on the back nine greens. The rainy summer has helped the course recover from the drought conditions the last year or two.
Terrible Greens
Not sure what has happened to the greens at White Hawk, but they are horrible. Ball marks litter all 18 greens on the course and most have dead spots. The course condition was decent and the layout is among my favorites in the Tulsa ares, but they have to get the greens back in order. I wouldn't even consider playing there for the normal $43 green fees. It was an okay value for the $23 i paid on GolfNow. I might try it again next year, not sure.
Great risk reward course
The fairways were in great shape but the greens need some
attention. Pace of play was a little slow. There were several
groups of 5 players on a weekend most courses avoid this to
keep pace of play moving.
great lay out over all nice track.
the course is overall a great track. the course conditions are a subject of concern. the greens were in poor shape they were spotty and had a fungus I think. they had let the rough grow daily high then cut it and had clippings all over the intermediate rough. I lost 2 balls because of this.
Some greens on this course need work.
We had played this course last summer (2012) and the course was in great shape from tees to greens. This summer we played there for the first time and some of the greens had apparently burned up and had A LOT of bald spots. This day we played my buddy and myself were playing and got behind a group of 4 that WOULD NOT let us play through. It was some of the worst etiquette I had seen on any course. The fairways were great, the tees were great, the staff was great, the greens were very poor. I was very disappointed
good course
hadn't played here in awhile, it was fun the only draw backs were the greens, they were soft ,slow and bumpy.
Great experience. Only negative was the group in front of us got 2 holes behind and there was no marshal to hurry them along.
Great golf with greens in excellent condition. The bentgrass greens there rolled true. Good test from the gold tees (1st tee box ahead of the championship tees). Very friendly staff including the snack bar. Only negative was the group in front of us was slow and got 2 holes behind. I did not see a marshal until it was too late on the last hole. It would have been nice to have him hurry them along. Round took 30 minutes longer than it should have. Otherwise, I plan to play again.
