Course closed in 2014
Stonebridge ended up closing down in 2014, a few months after I played it. It was up for a real estate auction in Spring 2015.
Course was popular with locals but had problems:
* Back 9 too compact; some fairways scruffy from too little sunlight penetrating thick tree canopies..
* Back 9 poorly routed; you can get lost trying to find #13 tee.
* Lumberjacks needed to remove about 200 trees; tree spreading had made some holes almost too narrow to navigate.
* Course had no practice area.
Stonebridge
Good pace of play. There are some tight fairways. Need to keep it straight.
Very scenic, however
Difficult for beginners. Requires accurate shotmaking on several holes. Greens could be a bit faster.
This course has some interesting features.
The greens had not been mowed, along with the Tee-boxes and the sandtraps were not in good shape at all; however, there has been a lot of rains over the past few weeks and probably just couldn't catch up with it. Very interesting lay-out with some very interesting shots that had to be made to play the holes properly. I would recommend the course to others at least for a first time experience and some time in the near future will play it again
This course is a different course
The layout was nice. Shorter holes but tight fairways. The course was not well kept however with shaggy tees, fairways, and greens. The greens may have been the slowest greens I've ever played on.
Nice course where you use most of the clubs in your bags.
Greens are in excellent condition! Several tee boxes were under repair. Fairways have a lot of weeds in them.
Best Bang For your buck
The course was in good condition .
And we had a good pace this course is a shot making course so it's a little tough to play but if you are a single digit handicap
You should be able to play this track .
The staff was nice and helpful. I will use this course to hone my skill.
Worst course around in this price range
If you enjoy 50 yard uphill walks to greens from the cart path, this course is for you. Way too many hills, too narrow fairways, and course is too short to hit driver on. Miserable
Step up from goat ranch
I mean if you are looking to party with the guys and have a few $2 brews, this is the place!!!! If you are looking to play a quality non quirky golf course this is NOT the track!!!!
First time
I just started playing golf and I'm not very good. The normal golf course I play at is getting easier most likely because I always play there. So I went to Stonebridge to change things up and by the time I got to the 7th hole, I realized I am worse at golf than I thought I was. For me, this course was too difficult. Also, parts of the course still had maintenance equipment on the fairway. It was annoying to play around the equipment.
I could see this course being a good challenge for intermediate golfers, but not for me lol.
It is a nice course
The course is in good shape. There is one or two fairways in ok shape but greens are in great shape.
Solid course
Stonebridge was a great golf course for the cost to play. It is tucked away in the back of a subdivision with some very nice surrounding homes. It is a course for players of all skill levels. There were a lot of hard dog legs forcing you to lay up and make a quality second shot. They say you will use ever club in your bag and that's no exaggeration. You can expect anything from 130 yard par 3's to 500+ yard par 5's. I would recommend this course to anyone looking to be challenged. I will be back there to play again. The best part about it is you can take your own cooler of beer with you on the course and I recommend it because I never saw a cart girl in my entire round of 18.
In great shape
For it still being early in the season course is in great shape. Only a few holes that are being worked on. Fairways are in great shape. Overall a very fun and challenging course would recommend to any level of golfer
Course review
Only drawback was cart path only due to very wet conditions. Love this course, great value for the money and depending on which tees you play from, it is a challenge for all level of golfers. Normally play this course a few times a year.
Great Greens
I called the desk at the course and spoke with Dillion because we were running very late. Dillion told they were not busy so come on in. We arrived and teed off right away. We played in 3 1/2 hours and enjooyed the course. The greens are in great shape. We will play this course again!
This is your course if you like blind shots
Poorly designed hole layout where nearly every drive and approach is blind. Most holes you couldn't hit driver on either because it was too narrow, too short of a dogleg, or just uncertain where the fairway goes. Not in great condition either, especially the greens which were extremely slow.
First time
I really enjoyed this course for the first time. The only negative aspect of the course is that it is hilly. Other than that it is worth the money.
Slow Play
Slow play made this round bad, typically we've played here & it's been awesome. Can't beat the price.
The course is good value
If you just want to play, this course is a great value. The course is in a bit of disrepair but nothing that you can't play on. Some nice set ups and tight fairway -- bring a couple extra balls as the woods will swallow a couple.
Good value
This course is a really great layout witha ton of risk reward holes. A course that had a lot of character with rolling fairways and beautiful views.
