Can be beat for the price
Played the Abbey today. Aside from 2 closed holes and some pooling here and there, this place seems to be in great shape despite the flooding. Had a blast and improved my game quite a bit. For 10 bucks (9 holes, cart included), this place is hard to beat.
Being that there was rain forecasted (but never came) we had the place pretty much to ourselves. The food in the tavern looked good and the staff in the shop were outstanding.
I honestly couldn't have been happier.
Course In Poor condition
The course was in bad shape with little or no grass and full of weeds on the fairways. The pace of plays were poor and single player not allow to play through.
Different Course
Fun course. Well worth the price. Even though it was crowded, we pretty much scooted around without delay. #10 is a Per 6 which is fun – never seen that before. If you have any talent at all (I don't) you can actually par this course. Looking forward to playing it again after we get some rains and the Abbey Colurse greens up. Play it!
Rough
Rough course. Not much grass. Greens were the only real grass and they were very slow. It is what it is. Ok for $10.00, I guess.
golfing with friends
the course was in good shade for this time of year the greens where very slow to many of the greens that we have played on the lady working the desk was very friendly the play of 18 holes was 3 3/4 hrs not bad for this time of year would play again
Outstanding
The staff was extremely friendly, joking around with us....$10.00 for 18 holes on a cart....had a friend join us after 5 holes and only charged him for 9....only the greens were over-seeded......excellent and would hold a shot into the green.....Tom, the Pro, is outstanding
always a great time
alway have a good time playing here the staff and other golfers are great.
abbey
nice layout great greens a little slow compare to recent play but still in great shape fairways alittle brown but great price
excellent course, tom's a great guy!
love this course, its challenging with no pressure,,the people that play there are nice and respectfull, and the staff is excellent. would recommend this course to anyone from beginner to pro, its an excellent course!!
Not Good
Small course with friendly staff. The course is in terrible shape compared to other courses in the area, however, I think this is a good course for new players or seniors .
Keith
I've played here many times and I must say It's one of the Best kept secrets. The course is very scenic and challenging for the average Golfer.
Compact layout but still enjoyable
This course had the strangest layout I have ever seen. Holes running along, beside, and almost literally on top of one another. Also, no bunkers on the entire course. A few water hazards to be had and that's it. Also don't expect bermuda grass fairways, as the fairways are regular florida grass, which makes it quite difficult to find your ball.
With that said, the course was still fun to play, the tee boxes & greens were in great shape, and the lady in the pro shop was EXTREMELY friendly and talked to me about all the holes, how to navigate around the course, and the sloping.
For a $10 hot deal, you can't really go wrong. Even at $18 ($1 a hole) it's a great value. They do have a restaurant & tavern on site as well which I did not try.
