Pace of play very slow definitely need to fix the drainage issues seems like it’s the center of the fairways Teebox all the way down to Green’s .
Nice course
Course is good condition. Greens were soft and rolled well. Didn’t get to finish due to thunder storms. Would like to come back some time.
Must play
What a great course. Challenging with some narrow fairways, tight pin placements today and a bit breezy. If you never played or haven't played in a while this course is a must to challenge yourself and ability with accuracy.
course in good shape
greens were tad beat up with people not repairing ball marks. other than that in great shape.
Excellent shape
Course was in great shape with fairways cut and greens that rolled true
Great conditions at the Rug
This has been one of my favorite courses for years. Currently it is in excellent shape. The greens are a little beat up, but otherwise it’s great.
Rude staff
Refused to work in a single without a tee time when literally no one else was on course yet. Said come back some other time. Extremely rude staff. This ain’t pebble beach guys.. chill out.
Nice layout
Ruggles Ferry is a very good course. Friendly staff, course condition was above average, not too long which is good for us short hitters, although the back tees were over 7,000 yds. Not for me. I would recommend this course to my friends.
Nice course
Staff is friendly, pace of play was great. Course is in good shape. Good overall experience, I'll likely return again.
Great Course
Played with a group of 16 and had a wonderful time. The course was hard and fast due to the lack of rain. The over all course was in good shape. Course gets a lot of play so there are some rough greens on par 3's from pitch marks but nothing that shouldn't be expected. Pace of play this day was kind of slow . There were quite a few groups out there on a Saturday morning, which is to be expected. Would definetely recommend this course if you haven't played before.
Gvegas golfer
Not a long course but has plenty of character and a fun round.
7 hr day of golf
for such a nice course,
its sad that my round took 5 hrs and 45 min. to play. if you figure in the time it took to travel to and from the golf course, it was a 7 hour day of golf.
i think number 14 is a fairly long par 5. when we pulled up in the cart; there were 2 groups waiting to tee off, 1 group out in the fairway and 1 group chipping to the green. counting us, thats 5 groups on 1 hole! it was brutal all day. no rangers to help speed up play. from what we could tell, there was a counter guy, a girl in the concession area and that was it! we did notice a truck at the maintenance shed so maybe that person was in there asleep.
its a nice course and those 2 employees were super friendly.
But the pace of play was brutal.
cant say it enough.
I will mention that it was Cart-Path -Only.
thats just unacceptable.
they had - had rain, but no more than the couse we
played the day before, 15 min away. the other course was 90deg rule.
if its wet enough for cart path only, they should offer everyone a raincheck if they so desire, before they start the round, instead of walking a 6500 yard course in damp grass.
in my opinion it should have been 90 deg, but i dont run the course.
if i ever go back, ill call before i leave the house and check on the cart rule for the day.
yours truly,
wasted saturday
Pleasant surprise
Was looking to play somewhere close to where I was staying and choose here. Nice mix of holes with some being tight off the tee and some more open. Elevation change make club selection extremely important. Course was in very good shape although the greens appeared to have been aerated a few weeks prior. Staff was super friendly.
over priced
Just an average course short course with small greens very playable but over priced Lots of nicer courses around here for the money charged here
Great Layout!alway
Always in great shape. Family atmosphere. Will be back soon!
Always a pleasure!
Conditions for this time of year were great! Nice to go to a place and get treated right. They always seem to remember our names, and are so nice. Can’t wait for the warm weather to arrive!
Green Ruggles
I haven't played RFGC since early this spring when there was no grass, but they have plenty of green grass now and some pretty thick rough. Only one complaint for the course, the practice putting green was far more faster than the actual playing greens. It was a shock how slow the greens were because they are normally pretty fast. The other complaint is they didn't have any chicken salad sandwiches and for us playing twilight, eating at the golf course will be our dinner and when you've been looking forward to something and then they don't have it is kind of a bummer. All in all though, staff was great, course was good, hopefully they speed the greens up a bit, I give 4 outta 5 stars!
This was my first time out to Ruggles Ferry. The layout of the course is nothing too special, handful of par 5's that aren't too long, handful of par 3's that are very short, and mostly par 4's between 350-420 yards. The course was in very nice condition. Fairways were a little brown, but still full to play off of, not many bare spots. Greens were in excellent shape. Tee boxes were horrible, but appeared to have been recently aerated, so hopefully they turn around. We were stuck behind two foursomes who would not let us play through which was frustrating, so we actually skipped 2 holes to jump them and then didn't play behind anyone for the rest of the round. No problems with the staff. Paid $39 for a Sunday morning tee time, so definitely a pretty good course for the money you pay. Would recommend.
Great course
This is a great course. We play it at least every other month. Never had any problems. It is windy most of the time but that is what it is.
