WindRiver Golf Course

My first round here was simply excellent. A brief disclaimer here - this is not a course for beginners, and you are in for a long round if a member of your party struggles to make solid contact. That said, I would definitely play here again. The whole course is in great shape, especially the greens. Great views, helpful staff, impressive practice areas - an overall very enjoyable round. I will be back.

I had not played Rarity Pointe/Wind River in over two years since I had just moved back to the Knoxville area. Played last week and they apparently have resorted to the old trick of overbooking the course. We got behind a twosome and a very very slow foursome. No rangers on the course and the call to the clubhouse fell on deaf ears. Pretty course but if they continue to overbook it and allow slow play there are other options around Knoxville. Also if you have not played the course there are a few holes poorly laid out, very unfair tests of golf that will leave you frustrated and wondering who on earth designed it, but more importantly who does not RE-design it.

The new owners are working hard to bring this course to the standards one would expect from a well designed course on a gorgeous piece of land. The new course management company that was just hired should be able to bring this course to its full potential.

the course was very nice -- need more drinking water coolers on the course -- had two restrooms one for each side but the doors were locked -- the pro shop was not concerned about our issue all they wanted was there money -- we had to pay for an extra chart at $20 a cart was is high way robbery, then they had the nerve to ask for the cadt back after the fron nine but did not want to refund any money. We had a single playing with us and we could of used his cart-- seems like it was more about the money that it was about the experience. I think the owner should look at his personal working in the pro shop

I liked the course over all but pace of play was very slow by the group in front and they would not let us play though and we called to see if the would make make the group in front of us go faster and they did not even come out. round took well over 5 hours and they were not alot of ppl out there.. a group that started and hour after us caught us on 17 because the group in front took so long..

Ball placement is a must! Very hilly course has no level fairways. Many blind shots, for the first time player, a real challenge.

This a great course that I recommend to anyone who thinks about playing here. It is just diffucult enough to make it very fun but not too hard. It challenges every shot and I had a blast playing there. The greens and fairways were in great shape the best shape of any course around right now. I can't wait to go back.

We have been playing golf for about 1 year so we tee off from the green tees because this course is so long. There are a lot of surprises the first time you play course. Look out for hole #12 and #9. These two are my favorite.

This course makes you think hole to hole..be careful before you try to grip it n rip it!

I played this course in early spring and was surprise at the excellent conditions. There were not many people on the course but it still took a long time to play.

Enjoyed playing this course, will be back. It would have been nice if you could get a hot dog at the turn.

The golf course is great, you have alot of up hill shots, so you'll have to take one more club. I'am playing a tournament there soon, so it was good to see the course.

To hard to do cart path only. Very long walks from path to fairways. Course is a definite challenge. Will try again in drier weather.

The course was very hilly and with it being cart path only was extremely hard on my knees; the ground was wet which made it difficult in hitting the ball and the ball would sink in the ground in several places

Loved this course and will play again and again.... large challenging greens and fairly open fairways. Beautiful scenery

Will play this course anytime there is a special throught you.

I like to play a course that gives you an opportunity to use every club in your bag. Most shots are pretty open.You don't have a lot of blind shots . I am a very competative person,if I wasn't I probably would not play WIND RIVER maybe once a year. I normaly average shooting around 80, but not here . I'm past 65 yrs years of age and love playing golf. The course is very beautiful. I also like the practice greens. I think the most challenging thing is the greens. No flat straight puts.

Course is tough but fair. Beautiful layout with lot of challenging elevation changes. Our round took a long time even though we had no other golfers to contend with due to soft conditions with carts on path only. It got very tiring walking back and forth from ball to cart with all of the hills. With that said, I would play it again, just with better weather conditions.

course was in fairly good shape for the time of year it is.
