Golf Club At Wescott Plantation - Oak Forest Course
About
Situated in the heart of Lowcountry, the Golf Club at Wescott Plantation is part of one of the area's oldest plantations. There are 27 holes of golf available at the club, which are divided into three nine-hole courses: Oak Forest, Burn Kill, and Black Robin. Although each golf course has a different character and scenery, they are all dappled with centuries-old live oaks and wetlands. The Oak Forest Course takes its name from the original plantation and has wider fairways than the other two courses. Lush vegetation frames each hole and the classic bunkering embodies the traditional feel of the course. The eighth hole is the signature hole of the entire golf course, distinct for both its scenery and difficulty. Par will be tough on this par 3 with a lake bordering the entire left side.

Super bang for your buck
Was a treat compared to the course we played the previous day for twice the money. Loved it
Always a Great Time
Wescott never disappoints and I always make it a point ti play there on my annual trip to Summerville to visit friends. The course is in great shape. Played Burn and Black Robin. Welcoming fairways, strategically placed bunkers and challenging greens. The greens were recently aerated, so putting is tricky for now. Highly recommend the course..
Needs tlc
Selling range balls for mats no good. Bunkers hasn’t been raked since the civil war
All the staff should be fired. Most unprofessional people I have ever had dealings with at a golf course. Paid for 18 was only aloud to play 9 because they were shutting down at 2. No refund because it was made and paid to GN.
Starter
Find a new job if you don't like yours. Don't ruin someone's round because you're having a bad day. Talk about unprofessional.
Wescott
Nice course tough not for the beginner . No water on course . Cart came around once. I like it will lay again bring your own water.
Worst golf experience
Let me say I have played here 3-4 times and really like it.
Yesterday was a different story. I was hosting 2 groups.
It took 2:50 min for the front 9
I joined the group at that time . There was. A 3 some in front that was clearly holding up the whole course .
No Ranger was on the course anywhere, we finally went around this group to discover the whole course was wide open.
As we started to have fun and get going we were absolutely hounded by the cart boy to stop playing and return to the clubhouse as the sun was going down
It appeared they all must have had other things to do.
As a result I played 7 holes in 2:20 min and could not finish 9 holes
My son and his friends left as they were so frustrated by having 3 groups on every hole.
The ironic thing is my son is a cart guy at another course he has to wait till everyone is done often times getting home very late. He never badgers the guest to stop playing
I hope someone reads this and offers me my money back or returns my call but I am not holding my breath
Good bye Wescott golf course you should be ashamed of your team
Northern plays the Southern golf
Wow. Coming from Connecticut and playing golf in South Carolina was an experience I hope to repeat. Starting with checking in everything was yes sir absolutely sir and thank you sir. Real Southern hospitality. The starter gave me the card and showed me where the first hole was. Oak Forest. Laid out well with 5 tee boxes. I was going to play the “green” tees but the fairway on the first hole was open and just made me play the whites. I’m 62 and was only playing 1round. Every hole was picture perfect. Fairways are wide with well placed traps that were a challenge not difficult. The greens were nice to putt on very fast for me.
The second nine was Burn Kill and played like the front nine. Several doglegs and some fair and challenging par 3’s over water made this a course to play if your in South Carolina. Definitely will play this again. Also bought a shirt in the Pro Shop.
So nice we played it twice
So happy to have found this gem. The 3 nines are all interesting layouts, well maintained greens and fairways. The sand was several steps above the normal type of coastal course sand traps but oddly, were not groomed. That would be my only negative comment and for a casual round easily remedied by raking and taking a drop in the bunker.
The course offers generous fairways and for the senior golfer (60+) the rate was exceptional.
On our next visit to the Charleston area we will definitely play Wescott again.
Affordable and excellent conditions

Beautiful day!
Great day! Course is in good shape. Still scarred a bit from aeration. But I like the course, layout and challenges. Greens are a bit inconsistent but it was still enjoyable. I’ll be back.
