Golf Club At Wescott Plantation - Burn Kill Course
About
The Golf Club at Westcott Plantation is a 27-hole course that is situated within one of the area's oldest plantations. The beauty of the Lowcountry is evident throughout the golf course with centuries-old oak trees framing all the layouts and lush vegetation along every hole. The names of the courses: Oak Forest, Burn Kill, and Black Robin, all have origins in the plantation's history. Burn Kill is tighter off the tees than Oak Forest, but more generous than Black Robin. The golf course has a classic bunkering style and there are streams, ponds, and wetlands interspersed throughout for added challenge. The 8th hole is one of the most unique holes of the entire course. On this par 3, the black and blue tees attack the green from a completely different angle than the white, green, and red.

Need a ranger bad!
Love the course have played many times I have never understood why it is so expensive for a municipality, but is in good shape .That being said they need a Ranger bad we had a couples foursome in front of us that had the course backed up all day long With at least one hole open ahead of them
Not Bad, but Course Needs Some Love
Overall, had a very enjoyable round.
Beautiful Monday on this solar eclipse day. I really enjoyed the course layout. Well thought out bunkers and water hazards, but not too many to take away the enjoyment of crushing some long bombs off the tee.
My biggest setbacks were several of the greens were in really rough shape, fighting some kind of bad growth that did not allow for smooth rolling putts.
Several of the tee boxes were also not much more than a dirt/sandbox to tee off from.
Fairway were well kept and so was the rough.
Pace of play could have been better for a Monday, first nine were great, but our assigned back nine was annoyingly slow. Sure we were a threesome and a groups of 4 let us pass, but after playing one more hole we caught up to another group. Would have been great to see a Ranger out there encouraging proper pace of play.
Nice layout but….
This course had a nice layout and interesting holes, but it, was very dry with many holes having burnt grass.
Slow play
When my group went to the first tee there was 3 groups waiting , thought they where just backed up waited about 20 minutes. Then talked the person that looked like he was in charge of the young men (was a collage team) and said they had t,he same tee times as we did ? Got off 45 minutes late !,,Not a good start. Was super slow. Later talked to the club pro he said the team had the wrong time. He made it right for me. THEY NEED A STARTER AT THE FIRST TEE
Stairs going down to starter tent are very slippery in the morning dew could use some grip tape took a big fall
Nice course, I’ll be back
Played in the dead of winter & grass was mostly dormant. It also rained hard the previous day so conditions were wet. Overall layout was great, I’ll be back when the grass is green again! Very friendly staff & accommodating.
Great time
We had a frost delay. I never experienced that in my life. The gentleman in the pro shop was super knowledgeable and friendly. They got us off and rolling right away. I love this course. Great time. Go for it!
Great buy.
In an area where accessible prices for golf are rare, this course offers great value.
always great
My son was in town for the holiday and we played twice while he was here, had a great time!
The little things.....
You need to have much better food and remind people there's no water on the course. Also a refreshment cart would be a good idea or at least use the one you have. This is one of the best City courses I've ever played, just needs some TLC. Replace the missing yardage tags on the sprinkler heads or put in 200 blue stakes,150 white stakes and 100 red stakes in all fair ways. Really annoying to hit a great shot but a club short because you hafta guess at yardage on every shot.
