Very bad greens
The back nine greens are fair at best.
The front nine greens are absolutely terrible, should not even be called greens.
There are five public golf courses that have closed in the last 10 years in Sarasota.
Making it possible for the Meadows to have “crap greens”, charge unreasonable pricing and still get the public to play.
When the snow birds leave this course we be played by few locals.
Highlands
We have played Highlands many times over the years. We hadn't played this year until prices dropped. The greens were a mess. The fairways were ok and tee boxes fair.
Good deal … for hotdeal
Wouldn’t spend $80 to play. Greens need work. Ok condition . Better value around
Corse was average design
Will only play again if find good hotdeal
GREENS
The greens were in a terrible state and make putting ridiculous. Though I enjoyed my day..
Nice layout but dismal condition.
Played this course last week. I’ve heard that they had repaired the greens from last year which were a little “rough”.
I was truly amazed how bad the greens were this year. Lots of sand, bare spots and not smooth at all. The greens fees were not reflecting the poor conditions. I paid $75 plus tax for what I believed to be a fair price for in season Florida golf.
This course, given its conditions, should be charging half that price.
I would not recommend this course based on my last experience!
Worst green’s possible
Paid $75 which isn’t alot but it’s not nothing. Worst greens I’ve played on in years. People were nice they have some nice holes. We didn’t have to wait. But fairway’s were bad but you missed em when you got on the green
Disappointing
I returned to Highlands after several months. The last time was just after they had done some work on the greens so they were sandy and under repair. Highlands had raised their rates considerably as all local courses have done. I was expecting nice conditions but was very disappointed in how poor the greens were. They should just close the course if they don’t want to maintain it.
Chewed up greens
Course greens were in bad shape. They should lower prices to meet course conditions
Horrible greens, worst I have played anywhere
Visitors to the area, just looking for a decent place to play….this was not it’!!!
This could be such a nice course, absolute neglect!!!
Do not expect much if you choose to go…it’s a place to hit balls….that’s all. Obviously the community knows as we were the only people in the course…3 hour round.
I hate to give a poor review, but the next person should know. Really, course shouldn’t be open!!!! Certainly not charging anything over $30….at most.
Front 9 greens were sanded
The course conditions were terrible. Dry as bone and unplayable greens. I wanted to get our money back, but the vacationing players said not to. I will not be going back. Choose another course, there are plenty to choose from.
Course conditions
The greens were in terrible shape. We would have known how bad they were, we wouldn’t have played there. I understand the business aspect, but either lower the price or tell people before they spend that much money.
Jk
The course is very dry. Including the greens. It is not in great shape.
They also rarely have concessions at the turn so eat before you golf.
The layout is challenging enough but not a cake walk.
