Great Course in Great Condition
Shoal Creek has long been my favorite course in Kansas City but with the new zoysia collars and late summer rain, it is in GREAT condition this fall!
Great Fall Golf
They keep the leaves off of the fairways the course was in great shape - great fall golf getaway
A great course
I love playing here! Just a great course! It is always in great shape and they have good carts with awesome GPS displays that also feature nice overviews of each hole! The facilities are also top notch with great food.
Great course but poor pace of play
We were 14 minutes behind the pace of play at 10th hole. We had to wait on every hole. Your player assistant (not called by us) came out and spoke with Foursome ahead of us then told us she told them to speed up but they did not. They were slow because how they played . For example if someone was looking for a ball all players waited until they found it. They did not play ready now. We played two more holes and left when pace of play continued to increase. We left at 12.
Great Round
Golfed here with my Uncle and Nephew yesterday and had a great round. Lots of bunkers at this course, which I knew before hand as I have played here a few times. Greens were very fast, fairways are looking pretty good other than a few minor areas where its in repair. They were doing a cart path gate deal that was new to me, enter the gates, stay on fairway, exit at gates near the end of fairway. My only minor gripe is that the people outside near the carts were grumpy old men that seemed pretty stuck up. They wanted nothing to do with small talk or mild banter and just wanted us to leave it seemed, just not very friendly. Either way, was an excellent round and we had a great time!
Great Course
It’s a great course. The staff they hire is not particularly good. But, the course is still worth it.
Top course
Excellent layout. Pace of play was slow due to fivesome and foursomes ahead with little to no course Marshall attention. Course condition was good. Geeens were a little bumpy due to recent arieation. Overal very good course
A great public course option in Kansas City
if you're looking for a sold play in the Kansas City area, you can't go wrong with Shoal Creek. With six sets of tees, which can play as long as 7,011, it's a great test for every level of golfer. The course has a great variety of holes, is in above average shape, and there are no homes that come into play. Best of all, no two holes are alike. Greens are also interesting and in great shape.
Great Course
Great place to play. Worth the drive. The course is always in great shape, and playing from the tips isn’t too short like some of the other “local” type courses. Par 3’s are all going to be around 200+ yards so make sure your long irons are in tact. Fairways were in great condition for it being early in the season. Greens were a tad slow but nothing to complain about. Saw an eagle kill a rabbit on hole 4 my last time out so that was an added bonus.
Great Course
Greens and fairways were in excellent shape. Staff was friendly and prompt. Good selection of food and beverage and drink cart came by very often which was great for such a hot day. Carts had GPS so I didn't have to wander around with my phone from shot to shot. Worth every cent.
Nice layout in poor shape.
First time playing this course, lots of hype from numerous people. Definitely not worth the prime rate to play here. Nice layout, course is in poor shape compared to what i have been told to expect. Lots of dead spots, tee boxes were beat up, greens putt nothing like the practice green, bunkers were not in spring/summer shape. Play it for a deal but don't expect it to be as good as people make it seem. Supposed to be rated in the state of Missouri as one of the top courses, definitely not in top course shape.
Solid golfing experience
Little to complain about with this facility. Interesting variety of holes, good conditions, pretty solid pace of play...and well marked entrance and exit points for all fairways.
In fact the only real negative I can think of was the total lack of attention from the "cart guys" when we pulled up to the bag drop. It was our first time at the course so I pulled up, stopped, opened the trunk, took out both set of clubs all the while four older gentlemen sat in the covered area with the carts and didn't approach me. Then after we parked I walked back up to the bag drop area, interrupted their discussion and when I said I was new to the area I was told, "well you need to get your bags on a cart!" I'm sure 95% of the people who play the course are known to the staff and their inattentiveness is no big deal, but it was enough for me to have it as my memory of Shoal Creek.
