Great value, but quirky
The course conditions and slope were beautiful. Free range balls a bonus. Staff VERY friendly. There were a couple of weird things about this course. First there is no fringe/apron. Second, the hole layout on a couple of holes are just dumb. After holing out on 10, we go to the next tee box adjacent to the green. Come to find out, it was actually 12 tee box. You had to go over a bridge a make a hard right (which we also missed) to 11. Then, we literally couldn't find holes 17 and 18. We ended up playing holes 1 and 2 to finish. Very frustrating end to a great round.
I played the worst round in years, but I still had a great time at this course. We’ve had a lot of rain so the rough was unforgiving. You don’t have to be a long ball hitter to score well. Just hit the fairways and you will have a great day. Can’t wait to play it again.
The course was great. Pace was slow on the front nine but great on the back. The staff was outstanding. Wouldn’t hesitate to play this course and would recommend it.
Course was in excellent shape but due to recent rains players were kept on cart paths which slowed play.
The course is very very well taken care of. Lots of pretty views. Takes advantage of the hilly landscape in a way that makes the round fun and somewhat challenging. The sand is white and fine powder. I'm not sure it's even sand at all. You don't want to be in the sand, but it's how bunkers should be. Fairways are perfect. Hold the ball up at just the right height. The rough is thick and how rough should be. No patchy areas anywhere. Other than the triple bogey I started off with, I played great and loved this course.
Beautiful challenging course. Played with a couple of members who couldn't have been nicer. Great staff and amenities. Very pleasant experience.
I really enjoyed playing this course for the second time in my life. Playing conditions were excellent!! This is a fun course, challenging but realistic in expectations.
Only complaints were.
1. The driving range was out of golf balls when we arrived.
2. Our cart ran out of juice on the 16th hole. We had to call for a replacement.
Got paired up with a good dude. Played in under 3 hours which was awesome! Definitely be back!
card for $75
my wife"s company had a golf outing and my team won first place... T his was in October? I won a $75 dollar gift card... Thought I could us it for golf.. they told me no... then I had my wife pick out a shirt and they wouldn't honor the gift card... my wife's company paid cash for those cards... They at least should honor it... Very bad dealing with them...
Fun, but hard
The course was in excellent shape, greens ran very true. If you went into the second cut of the fairway, you would be in very big trouble if you could even find your ball. Oddly, they put cologne or something very offensive into the iced towel coolers. Really wanted to use them because it was so hot but they smelled like a perfume shot at Dillards. Never saw a drink cart come by until the 17th hole and the turn was on the 7th hole.
It pains me to give The Deuce only three stars. Let me start with the positives... The greens were pretty nice and rolled well. The fairways and bunkers were also in great shape. The complimentary range balls and the range itself is very nice. Now, the negatives. The course had no fringe around the greens.. It just went from green to rough. I found this very odd. I hated it actually. Especially because the rough was very thick and high at the time. I understand being penalized for missing the fairway, but when my ball rolls off the green I don't want to be in the thick rough. The other negative I have is that the course is horrible at directing you on where to go for the next hole. I ended up getting lost with my playing partner and just skipped a hole altogether. It's a shame because the course is in good condition, but they are just lacking a few things in my opinion for their price point.
