Golf Advisor: Top 25 Most Improved U.S. Golf Courses
The workers are great. The course was in good condition except it was the time the greens are sanded.
We appreciate you leaving a review and rating us. We will inform the entire team, so they know their hard work is paying off. Also, the greens should be recovered soon. We look forward to having you back at Harvey Penick Golf Campus!
Golf, the way it used to be
This is a great place for beginners or the casual, infrequent golfer. The course is short - loaded with par 3s - and you share fairways with foot golfers who many times bring their children and dogs. The pace is slow. The cart paths are made of dirt, rocks, and ruts. There's no air conditioning or ice for drinks. It's blue collar golf. Having said all that, the greens were in great shape, challenging but true. Lots of contours, too. The tee boxes were hard as concrete - bring a hammer and nail for starter holes! Overall, it's a great place to work on your short game, if you're not in a hurry.
Thank you for taking the time to review us. Your feedback is valuable, and we look forward to delivering you excellent service again soon. Harvey Penick Golf Campus thanks you!
Awesome place, and allows singles, so that's cool you can work on your game
Awesome place, greens a little slow ,but they roll excellent
We are so happy you enjoyed yourself here at Harvey Penick Golf Campus enough to recommend us! We hope to see you again soon.
Soccer/foot golfers all over the place.
We had soccer/foot golfers walking up on us constantly. We could enjoy actually golfing because crowds of foot golfers were so constant and loud
Nine hole bummer
I would’ve hoped for it to mention that it was a nine hole rather than 18 hold course
Hi there -
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we hope you'll give us another try in the near future.
Thank you for the 5 stars!
Worst course ever
I booked because I thought a value and had Harvey Pennick name. Rated 3.5. I have been playing golf for 50 years and never played a course this bad. Greens were in puttable. No tee markers or signs with hole numbers
I paid for 18 and left after 6.
Hi there - thanks for taking the time to leave us with a review. We apologize that the course conditions were not up to standard this early in the season. We are working to improve this as the weather improves over time. We hope to have you back.
Do not book Saturday Mornings-Midday!
If you love Par-3s then this course is for you. Obviously this course has some maintenance issues, but what do you expect. Do not book on Sat mornings as they have a kids golf program and the course is overrun with walking groups of 8yr olds!
Thank you so much for leaving us with your feedback. We value our customer experience, so your review is important to us. We will make note and we hope to see you back!
Thank you for your 5-star rating! Please book another round with us soon at Harvey Penick Golf Campus!

Fun par 30 short course. Maybe one driver hole but it is a good course to work on iron and wedge shots

Good value and good for practicing
The greens need some work to just be consistent. I don’t expect them to be perfect but the lack of consistency certainly made putting more difficult. Course is fun and plays fast and definitely worth the money to get your practice in.
Thank you so much for the great review. We are glad you had an incredible time, and we hope to see you again soon!
Not a quality course. Only 9 holes that weren't super well taken care of but they did let me play through four times

Course is in great shape
The course is in very good shape. A few of the greens need a little work, however overall the course is great. If your looking for country club conditions this probably isn’t the course for you. If your looking for a fun, short 9 hole course give a Harvey Pennick a try.
We play this course twice or three times every month. We always enjoy the course because it is clean and some challenging holes.
Titleist in the rough
If you know Austin golf, this course can be described as a cross between Jimmy Clay and Hancock. Only 9 holes, 6 par threes and 3 par fours., but well-designed and visually appealing. Has that East Austin terrain and plant life. The only problem was the need for some mowing, weeding and fallen tree removal.
A good option for kids and beginners, but still a good challenge from the back tees. A better option than Hancock if you are okay with mostly short holes.
Course lacks good directional signage
I found the course had inadequate and some confusing signage. There is a mix of golf and foot golf and it was difficult to determine how to get to the next tee locations as there were multiple paths without signage. Some of the paths had fallen trees blocking them. The out of bounds areas were well marked however, with warning signs about rattlesnakes. While there was rain in the forecast for later in the day, the groundskeeper was diligently turning on the sprinklers almost immediately before we reached almost every green. In some cases he would park next to us and wait for us to complete our strokes, which was bothersome. If you decide to play this course, and you are a beginner to intermediate skilled golfer, bring plenty of extra balls with to the course, as the fairways are lined with heavy vegetation and trees, and you will be hitting over water several times.
The course is only 9 hole course but fairways are good and greens are also good.
I have played harvey penick a coupe of times and the greens fairways and tee box have never been better. Go play it just for the love of the game of golf.
