Two things trouble me about this course.
Two things trouble me about this course.
The new recently finished clubhouse is very impressive, but then the locker room.....who designed a clubhouse with a tiny locker room? literally i have a bigger laundry room at home.
Secondly, why has no one sought to mention the cork factory located around the 6th tee box, on the day we played the factory smoke stack blew ( according to the huge sign on the 6th teebox ) "steam" from the cork drying process......... the "steam", was acrid and actually obsured the 6th hole in play, so bad we drove into the back of the group in front of us who had back-tracked and we could not see them, then on the 8th (par 3 uphill), we could not see the green less than 200yrds in front, furthermore, one of our 4 ball had breathing issues due to his asthma.
This really is a shame, as there are some very interesting holes, the course is not long and some holes are fairtly "straight", but the greens run true.
As a frequent golfers on the Algarve, this was our first and will be our last trip the Silves
When you need a break
Fairly easy course. Nice layout. Not as many elevated greens as other courses in Algarve. Greens were nice but very slow and inconsistent. Nonetheless, a fun day of golf. Tomorrow we play Gramacho which appears to be the Flagship of the Pestana golf chain.
