Not worth the money
Although we played this course Masters week with a higher than normal rate, it wasn't worth half the price we payed. Staff was friendly but the course was in pretty poor shape. I had heard later on the area had had some very hot temperatures and then a freeze so that may have had something to do with it. Rough was pretty much non existent and if you missed the fairway it was basically either dirt, rock or clay. Greens were decent, teeboxes and fairways below average. The group of us honestly felt the cart paths were a serious hazard. Severe slopes and basically 90% of the surfaces broken up and eroded with sharp edges and such. We eventually just did our best to stay off them. As far as the service, sandwiches were fresh made and coolers for the beer was a nice touch. Although, when my buddy cut his hand out on the course I was not impressed when the clubhouse didn't have a first aid kit of any kind on site. To sum it up, at I believe 80 dollars US to play definitely not worth the time. I'm not a fan of gimicky courses with lots of blind tee and approach shots. Maybe for the regular rates around 30 bucks when it's in better shape, but definitely a pass during masters week. Thanks
Great value
Can't go wrong for the price.
Some seed and water on the fairways are much needed
I like this place
If there was more grass in the fairways.... it would be great.
Layout is very good.
Needs a little tlc
Improving
Greens are the best feature. Tee boxes are getting better, especially in back 9. Fairways are rough. Glad to see the small improvements.
Greens were crazy good
The greens on this course were an easy 9/10, hopefully it's the start of bringing this course to life. The layout is crazy good with elevation changes and tree lined dog legs both left and right.
The bad starts with the road leading in and out from the clubhouse, cart path may as well be removed as all the cement is broken up. As for the rest of the course, I've never played such a poorly conditioned (except the greens) place. From the 1st tee to 18 its all just dirt and weeds. Perhaps they could provide every cart a mat to take out on the course so you can hit your ball off something that resembles grass (or bring your own).
The course is in ok condition, number sign on few
Hole were missing.
Improved
This course has come a long way in the last six months. The greens are in good condition, and there is now grass on the fairways. The course is still very bumpy, but the improvements and the good price, make it well worthwhile. Will play it again soon.
Stop picking on this course
In 1978 we cut grass and washed cars in Pittsburgh to play golf it was 20 bucks… fast forward today and I paid 10 bucks with the coupon CMON! Great for the money
best deal on golf in the area. fairways are not the best but the greens are in great shape. value for the money
good course
Tee boxes were fair, the greens in very good condition, fairways need help, very dry and sparse. person behind counter great, friendly and helpful. would play again
Worst course I’ve ever played
DO NOT PLAY THIS COURSE! It should be shutdown, it’s that bad. I wouldn’t play for free or if they paid me. Just sand and weeds, greens were hairy with bald spots all over. Save your money and time for a different course.
Okay course
The greens were pretty nice but the fairways need a little work. Overall a fun golf course!
Worst
Rather have played in a cow pasture. NO FAIRWAY GRASS ANYWHERE.
Back again
Played the course 2 weeks ago and went back Saturday. We had a steady rain the day before and was expecting some standing water in areas but the course drained well. Around the greens you are starting to see the Bermuda come back and the greens are looking healthier. The ball rolled very well around 8 on stemp. The sand traps still look well maintained. Fairways on the back 9 are definitely better than the front but both have some way to go. I do see some grass coming back in areas much more than 2 weeks ago. If the course can keep the hackers from driving their carts onto the aprons of the green it will only get better. I will Keep you posted!
Good Bones in Rough Shape
Layout is challenging. All fairways are in bad shape. Greens were airated and in decent shape. Tee's good. Pace of play was very good. $20 value worth it.
