Needs some heat.

Staff and pace of play was great. The course just needs some heat. The fairways and greens are still coming in.

The course was rough, especially the fairways. I understand with the flood and cold weather this year took a toll on the course, but hopefully in the next year or so it will recover and be a course that’s worth the cost. Way too expensive for the condition of the course. Had lunch after the round and the food was very good.

Keep your money

This place is not worth it. Every green is in horrible condition. One green even is half dead. When you putt, your ball gets ruined. Not only that, there is still not grass compared to every other course in the area. If they are going to charge such high prices they need to put the money into the course and actually fix it. If not, they need to charge lower prices. It is absolutely not worth playing and NEVER pay 70-80 dollars to play it.

Oh and by the way, plan for a 5+ hour round....

course needs work

Fairways in poor shape largely due to flooding and mud
Greens generally ok but many large areas have what appears to be fungus patches
Course needs BALL WASHERS,
ADDITIONAL PARKING
REPAIR CART Paths-some potholes ridiculous-just fill them in untill full repairs or replacement
Restaurant:
So loud, could barely have conversation-needs some sound softening.
Need cold glasses for beers

Golf with a side of misogyny

This is a beautiful course and the people working in the pro shop, snack bar, and the starter were all very helpful and friendly. My husband and I were paired with a single and we had a great time on the front nine. The foursome in front of us was playing extremely slow, but they were very really nice guys. At the turn they let us play through and were joking that they shot 63 to 65 on the front nine and they were out for a leisurely day of golf and beer with the boys. We thanked them and went on our way and we all made par on hole 10. Next we tee off on hole 11 and after our second shot, we see the marshal speeding toward us from the other direction on the cart path (it was cart path only today). We moved our cart over so that 1 tire was on the side of the path so he could pass us (our tire was on dirt, not grass). We walked to the green to putt and the marshal yells, "Cart path only." My husband is very easy going and he told him he had only moved over so that he could pass us on the path. At this point, the marshal gets out of his cart, jumps in our cart ,and moves us over by 1 foot. It was both petty and aggressive. When we finished putting, he's still sitting there and he looks right at me and says, "There isn't anyone in front of you for 3 holes," I started to explain that the guys in front of us let us play through because they were very slow and unexperienced golfers. He then raised his voice and sternly says, "You need to pick up the pace." I’m sure you can imagine how my husband felt about this and at this point my husband says, "Hey hey hey wait a minute. We're playing through quickly and we were held up." The marshal proceeds to cut him off mid-sentence looks at me with his open hand pointing right at me and says, "You need to pick up the pace. There are 3 open holes ahead of you." I knew exactly where this would have gone if I didn't calm the situation, so I told the marshal we'd do our best to play even faster than we were already playing. I grabbed my husband's arm and asked him to let it go. Nevertheless, I was completely shocked that this guy blamed the entire situation on me. Did I mention I was the only woman on the course? Admittedly, I didn't have the best game today (53 on the front nine), but I am fast, and I pick up after triple bogey unlike the foursome who had been in front of us. Note that my husband shot 44 on the front nine and the single with us also shot in the low 40s. Clearly, we were not the source of the slowdown on the course, yet the marshal was adamant about not only blaming a woman, but yelling at us as if we were children (we're in our early 50s and the guys with us was probably in his mid-to-late 60s). It was humiliating and discriminatory. Despite the beauty of this course and the fact that we had a great time for 10 holes, I wouldn’t play here again if you paid me. Women already experience discrimination on many courses, but at Towhee Golf Club, the misogyny comes from a course marshal! I debated about whether or not to mention this to the manager because I didn’t want to be labeled THAT woman who complains. But I decided to talk to the ladies in the pro shop and they were very nice and apologetic. The only thing I hope comes out of this is that the older marshal with the mustache should take some implicit bias and sensitivity training and be counseled to collect some data before throwing accusations at the fast golfers on the course. Please make room and a welcoming environment for women in golf.

Course conditions poor

A year ago this course was quickly improving. This year it has fallen back significantly. The greens are terrible significant dead spots with one being half dead. The fairways are thin and hard as a rock. Pace of play is very very slow. 16 holes took 5 hours and we ran out of daylight. The price point for all this is way more than justified to play. It is not a top rated club to be charging what it is charging. I dropped 60$ for twilight and after 4 holes felt robbed. The only positives here were people were all nice and new club house was impressive. I will not be playing this course again.

Early Roynd

Course has just had too much rain. Once the fairways come in, it’ll be in much better shape. Range was shut down because of lake in the middle of the landing area. I would have appreciated some sort of discount. Staff was very friendly.

Slow and overpriced

Was literally a 5 hour round. There was a single in front of us and after 2 holes he started playing with us as a 5-some. Even as a 5-some we waited at every single tee box. Course is also in brutal shape because of all the rain. They'll still charge you $90 though

Nice course, but…

Simply give it up. Winter time in Tennessee is really hard on the golf courses. Thank goodness we got a deal through golf now. We only paid about half of what the normal fee was. Let’s just say that the course was half of its potential. Literally. When we got there, we were told that we could not play the back nine. Grrr. And the front nine was pretty slushy. So we stopped at the restaurant and bar before we played the first half again. Our bar lady was very very friendly and fun. And we made the most of what we had. So perhaps we will wait till summer before we come back.

Disappointed with Golf Now!!!

Due to unexpected rain and weather we were not able to play. The course was virtually closed to play and I sent 2 emails to Golf Now seeking a credit on future play. No response!!! I read and understand the 24 hr cancellation policy but there is always and exception. The course it self is one of my favorites and as a result of the lack of feedback from Golf Now I will never use Golf Now again and will ensure that all my friends don’t either. Very unprofessional.
