Staff were amazing
I am a beginner golfer, that just got off plan from Canada. The course was on my way from Orlando to Ocala with a great rate so figured it was worth stopping in to see if I could get out as a single. The pro shop staff was friendly and welcoming and said they would fit me in (since first time playing a course since October, relatively new golfer, female I was really hoping to be by myself).
Not thinking I got my golf shoes on, grabbed my newly rented clubs (from elsewhere) and headed to starter. The starter was nothing short of amazing - he said it was now or likely an hour wait, so nervous I went to first tee…of course then I realized I hadn’t gotten balls with the rented bag, had tees and my own glove but no balls. I went back to starter and said I would go purchase some but likely would need to them wait …but he said no worries and gave me 3 balls. What a nice move above and beyond. Then I went to go and got up to green and see him coming down green…I thought he was going to say that I did something wrong but nope it was to bring me a few more balls - not sure if after seeing my first shot he thought I might loose a few lol but sooo nice of him. Ended up just loosing on ball but had a great time. For $29 for 18 holes and that was with cart was a great deal and would go again

Good layout, nice shape
Fun design with a wide variety of holes, no two alike. Overseeding has held up pretty well for this time of year. Greens run true, with only a few small areas with bad spots. Otherwise, very playable and well maintained. Rain stopped just before we went out, and with few people on the course, we finished in 3-1/2 hours. Great!

Great course & practice facility. However, was never told a scramble tournament was scheduled that morning. 50 minute delay.

Great greens. Nice layout.
Friendly staff. Good layout. Challenging holes and good tee selection. Greens were in great shape and held well. Greens fees are very reasonable.

Hidden Gem
This course is always in great condition. The greens roll true and can be fast. From tee to green the grass is well kept and fully grown. Multiple chipping and putting greens and the food is excellent in the cafe.

Links of Spruse Hills
Pleasantly surprised with the course, greens were very good, tees sparce and weedy, fairways like much of the other courses right now, dry and lots of bare spots. Greens were consistent and in really good condition. Staff were very helpful had a great time. A couple of "goofy " holes but in general well worth the money. Tried to book for this week and it was rather full 4 days in advance.

This is a very nice course but I think there putting too many people out took 3 hours to play the first nine too bad it’s a nice course

Nice course
Weather was warm and windy. The tee boxes were a little worn, fairways were tight , greens and aprons were excellent. Overall the course was in excellent shape. The course was crowded and tee times were delayed about 15 min. Once we got started pace of play was good. Staff was friendly and the starter was pleasant under stressful situation with the crowd of golfers. Price was good and overall experience was good. Will play again and would recommend.

Worst booking cancellation experience.
This is not a review of the golf course. It has pluses and minuses. I note the customer experience and support there is awful. Beware booking online. The booking fee is non refundable. Not mentioned anywhere in their terms and conditions. You only know this if you cancel. Spruce Creek’s staff were less than helpful in providing a refund upon cancellation which was more than 24 hrs in advance. Worst customer experience I’ve ever received in 50 years of golf.

Would not allow my spouse to ride along
Tee off and golf now do not have any method of requesting a friend/spouse to ride along. 99% of courses have no issues with it, sometimes with an additional cart fee and many with no additional fees. I might as well contact each course myself directly to arrange a tee time versus scheduling through their websites. At least I will know if a rider is an issue or not, so I don’t book it and then not be able to play.
