The Ponds Golf Club - Blue Golf Course

The course was in good shape, it's a fun and challenging course ! My only complaint would be that there appears to be two different sets of carts there and we got the ones that looked like it was from the 70's and sucked to drive cause there was no middle throttle, it was either off or wide open, so driving slow was not a option.
But besides that I feel like it was a great course for the price!

If I could improve on this course it's would be to have watering points throughout the course.

first time playing the course, not familiar with the course,playing by myself, pretty easy to follow the course layout. it rained got awful wet, will probably play the course again.

The course was in great shape! Need to have more clear yardage markers and 100 yard markers. Could have better signs for next hole. Saw 2 groups searching for next hole.

First time playing The Ponds and will definitely go back. Got around in good time for a weekend round. Little tight as you wind through the houses but not bad. Not a "cookie cutter" design which is nice. Not overly tough but a challenge for sure.

I have played this course numerous times. Pretty well kept up. Many challenges, whether it's the water, sand, doglegs, some great carry overs on some holes. Gives you a great opportunity to sharpen your game. Give it a try - you will be back. Staff pretty friendly and food is good!!! Also has 27 holes...

Great deal through GolfNow for two people, 18 holes and a cart on Labor Day Monday. Pace of play was great. Fairly challenging w/ some narrow fairways. Course was in decent shape even though they had alot of rain the previous night which made the greens incredibly soft and slow. Tee boxes a bit beat up but still ok. I would go back again.

Love the 3 different Nines. Tee box on most holes were not in good shape, very uneven. We played from the blues. Greens were ok, partly due to golfers not fixing or doing a poor job of fixing ball marks on the greens. We played Blue and Red nines. No. 2, #7 blue and #3 red, all par 3's, and also #6 red, a par 4, they had the pins on very severe slopes. Way too hard for weekend hackers to play on. Over all good day of golf.

The course is in the best condition than it's been in the last four years, bunkers have new sand fairways and greens are in great shape the only negative would be the white tee boxes.

Course is a challenge but fun. Was disappointed no beverage cart out that day.

The Ponds golf course is a great course to go play 18. It is very affordable to play and the service is excellent. The few problems with the course is the up-keep. There is no sand to fill in your divots and the brides leading to other holes are in bad condition and there are pot holes on the fairways. Other than those few problems the course is great.

Brandon and the Staff at the Ponds always treat me well. I usually go out as a single and work on my game and the pace and course allow me to do that. If you haven't played her you should check it out as it is the same ownership as the Refuge which is one of my favorites in the city.

The course was great and the play was fast. Also, their beverage service was amazing and t both the bartender and beer cart personal were very easy on the eyes.

nice facility, good prices, varied type of holes, fairways are nice, roughs are punishing, chipping around greens can be testy, bunkers seem OK, greens putt pretty nice about medium speed and seemed not too busy the day we were there

Even though it rained on us for a couple of holes, this course shined as it drained nicely and left us a very good course to play. Both us agree that the tee boxes are the only thing that needs help here. There is no sand or seed to fill your divots and therefore needs some attention. I liked that each hole had character and had to be played for what was in front of you, and not just a different version of the previous hole. The fairways were plenty wide in the designed landing areas, the greens rolled very nice for early in our season.
Very fun to play, and challenging enough to keep you thinking.

My my complaint is that the staff charges you tax on top of what Golf Now indicates you pay at the course. I book quite a few rounds on Golf Now and The Ponds is the only one to do that.

The course does have some hole that demand accuracy. In particular #1 on the Red course with a small green and water all around. There are a few tee boxes that are pretty beat up but in general the course is in very good shape.

It is a lot more crowded this year as a lot of folks too advantage of the great deal on 1st time season passes. But with 3 nine you can get on most days. Sometimes you get extra groups stuck in before you on your second nine so they may want to work on that as well

The Ponds was an excellent course to play. Impressive design and scenic features that are quite appealing to the eye. Course provided distinct challenges and specific holes that exemplified a professional style course. A true diamond in the rough to sum it up. In fact, holes 3 and 4 on the white nine seemed too difficult to even comprehend at first. The only weaknesses that stood out were the soft greens and rough patches that needed to be addressed immediately for repair, and the bunkers were below average. But aside from that, this course was outstanding in my mind, especially for the price. I look forward to my next round there. Hopefully they'll work on firming up the greens.

My friend and I was pleasantly surprised by our first impression of the course. However as our round continued we started to see some opportunities for improvement.

First off the scheduling:

This course has 3 9 hole options, we were instructed to play Blue to White. We cruised through the first half of the course and then we hit the back 9. We multiple groups waiting on each hole. We almost left cause the wait was so long.

Second, the driving range:

On the ninth hole I had multiple balls land very near me while I was on the fairway. There is no net or protection for the players on this hole and the fairway was littered with driving range balls. Make sure you don't use a yellow ball.

Third, Beverage cart (or lack there of):

Not sure if they have a beverage cart or when it runs, but during my full round which took over 4 hours due to the back up on the back 9 we never once saw a cart.

Fourth, directions/course flow:

There are few to no signs for the holes. There are a few areas that are strangely laid out and its hard to tell which tee box you are supposed to play from.

Over all this course looked promising but there are a lot of small things that added up to make the round kinda a pain. I might try again some other time but not rushing back.

The course is more challenging than I imagined, and was in decent shape for how early it is in the season. My issues with this course are with the facilities and staff. When we walked in, we immediately overheard a couple passing us say "I am seriously regretting getting a membership here". That was a bad sign. The front desk was very rude, and acted like they were doing us a favor by allowing us to play golf here. I found it very strange that I had to leave my driver's license to rent a cart, and had to pay a $5 deposit for a cheap cooler for beer. To me, that speaks to the relationship between the course and their patrons which apparently is not a good one. I found it very tacky and annoying. I will return because I liked the course but I will walk out if I get one lick of attitude from the staff. Also, the bathrooms reek like urine, you can smell them within 15 feet of the door. Gross.

I have played at The Ponds many times as it is a course my boyfriend and I frequented regularly last summer. We enjoy that it is typically less crowded than the courses closer to the city and the option to play 3 different 9 hole courses is great. However, this experience was one of our worst. The staff was very rude. The person behind the counter ran my card without telling me the final amount and when I had a question on the total, he snapped at me telling me I was wrong. 2nd, when we went out to get our carts, there was no cart available. We had to go back into the club house and wait for the staff to make time to get us a cart. Very rude during this process as well. I don't know if this is because it is early in the season or if these are new employees, but I will definitely think twice about returning to this course only because of the staff.
