A fun course to play
A nice layout with a pretty good practice area. The lay out is nice and the course is fun to play. The greens are usually just ok and the price is good.

Quality, Challenging Track
Cowan Creek is one of my favorite central Texas courses. I don't get to play there too often because of the horrible Austin area traffic. The fairways were in excellent condition as expected, but unexpectedly the greens were less than desirable. They have two issues right now. 1) they must be in some sort of transition from winter rye to summer bermuda and a LOT of the bermuda hasn't come in yet so you get a lot of bare spots. 2) they have an extreme amount of little crab grass growths that completely affected almost every putt from our foursome. I hope the greenskeepers have a plan to take care of those boogers. As long as you get there early, the staff is more than pleasant and don't forget to bring your own refreshments! We truly appreciate your patience & understanding regarding a few of our greens, as this time of year does create some struggle with Poa Annua and the recent weather has been the perfect storm for Pythium root rot. Our superintendent is aware and working diligently on treatment for both, however, Poa Annua is a cool season grass so conditions will be improving with the warmer temps ahead! greens in bad shape
Your puts roll across the greens like they were on a wash board. Some type of fungus I would guess. They course should be closed until they straighten it out

Counter guy very rude
Felt like I was in 3rd grade and principal was talking to me..felt very disrespected for bein 3 min late...I’ll never step foot at any sun city golf courses
Mediocre
Greens were in terrible shape and the only snack or drink was a vending machine. I ate peanut butter crackers for lunch not knowing this.

Greens were insane...
Typical fairway conditions for this time of year - very sparse grass, and greens were "lightning" fast - probably 12+ on stimpmeter. Haven't played here in 3 years, but I'm a good putter and 8 handicap and 3-putted 7 greens. Nice course layout though...

I was somewhat concerned that this would not be a good experience based on some other previous reviews, my fears were unfounded. From the check in at the clubhouse, to the courtesy of the starter and marshal, I thought the staff was great. I have played about 15 rounds in the area so far in 2019 and these were the best greens by far. Course provides excellent layout, playability and has a very upscale feel to it. Thanks Cowan Creek for a great day of golf

Wait for dryer conditions
Unfortunately this course has extremely bad drainage. We played 1/10/19 and after almost a week of no rain it is still cart path only and needs to be. Lots of very wet, muddy, sloppy fairways take away from the enjoyment factor, in my opinion. To add to the problem, maintenance people drive all over the course, including all around the greens, leaving deep tire marks. Come on, guys, this only makes it worse. Greens are in good shape and when maintenance doesn't tear the course up, and when the conditions are more favorable this is a fun and challenging course. Just wait till ?? who knows?
TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RIP OFF!!!!!!!
The "marshal" (actually one of the men that washes the carts) came out and told everyone they had to QUIT the round (it was 1710HRS - that's 5:10pm) because the carts HAD to be in at 5:15pm...we had two holes left to play...we're on the tee box of 17, and he's standing in front of the tee box, and won't move, and is demanding that we turn the carts in now.
If the carts were due in at 5:15pm you all should have said that when we checked in.
VERY POOR MANAGEMENT; VERY POOR COMMUNICATIONS ; AND VERY** VERY** POOR "CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE/CUSTOMER SERVICE" - I will tell everyone to avoid Sun city
Mixed round
Weather was nice but course was cart path only due to how wet it was. Play was very slow and they needed a marshall to pick up the pace.
