About

The Hooch Golf Club sits along the Chattahoochee River in Duluth, sprawling across a scenic landscape covered with ponds and lakes. The course is an executive, par-61 layout that combines traditional features with modern challenges. Although there aren't any par 5s on the golf course there are a few holes that stretch to over 400 yards, which guarantees that you'll be using all the clubs in your bag. There is plenty of water throughout the golf course, including three holes that play right along the river. It might not be what you're looking for if you want something truly formidable, but for a short course it's a good challenge that provides excellent iron practice. Besides the golf course, The Hooch is also known for its 12-acre, lighted driving range. There are also putting and chipping greens with a deep-faced practice bunker.

Good for sharpening up your short game.
Executive Course is well kept, but very tight layout. Target practice vs bombs away. Great practice facility. My only beef is with the clientele, as with many public courses in Atlanta. These greens would be so nice if it weren’t for lazy golfers who refuse to repair ball marks. If you can hit a green with a mid to short iron, REPAIR YOUR MARKS. Golf is a gsme of etiquette, be considerate of others, honor this great game.
Not a bad course for the money
The course was a little soggy from the recent rain, and the greens were painfully slow. The traps had standing water, and were packed from the rain. The greens were in decent shape, but other players don't know how to repair their ball marks. Overall, this is a good course for the money - and it is rarely crowded on the weekdays.
perfect for what i was in the mood for
Haven't played in awhile so needed something short and fairly easy. Also, arrived and hour early and Marshall let us get in line.
good course to test short game
par 61 course. excellent course to test once short and mid irons. there are a few holes where your long irons are tested. bent grass not well maintained. lot of burnt spots in the green and bunkers are awful. fairways are well maintained
Flooded out course
Course was literally flooded in the fairway on holes 1, 4 , 6, and 11. Couples were playing and I understand taking a mulligan but 4-5 off the tee was ridiculous. I can’t recommend this course in the present condition
Don't play this course after rain.
Sand traps are terrible, no sand.
Nice Executive coyrse
Good place to work on short Game Got behind these guys who were all over the place they
Tempo and confidence
This is a good course to get your tempo, ball striking and confidence.
Great little course
This is a great little course to play when you are time restricted or just don't play a long game anymore. Executive course with par three's and fours only. Great for a fun round of golf.
Great executive course
Everything was great except speed of the greens. They were in good shape, just very slow. Cut and roll. Roll and cut. Whatever you guys do. Just need to be faster than crazy slow.
Nice short course
Greens were a little slow but the course was in very good shape.
Getting Better
The old hooch is showing signs of a comback, although slow, the greens looked better, the skirts could be better, I was really happy to see they stretched the blue tees back, made shot selection a lot different. If they could work on having more of a fairway-ruff distinction that would be great. I give this course a C+.
You Get What You Pay For
Hooch is a great little executive course to hone your iron game and pull out the driver a handful of times. But they’ve been going downhill for while now.
Tee boxes are fairly unkept, fairways and rough run together for the most part, and the fringe is bare patches of sand in a good number of spots.
Tee times seem more like guidelines than strict times. We arrived around 9:30 for our 10:00 tee time and spent a few minutes putting, with not much of a wait on the first tee box. But by the time we hit the starter, there were three groups on the tee box waiting, all theee with tee times later than ours.
The starters explanation was “they were here” - I didn’t put up a fuss but I also thought it wasn’t a great policy.
The conditions and upkeep of the course have definitely gone downhill in the past few months, but it is still a good place for an affordable and quick round of golf.
