Best vacation course in area!
I've played this course with family every year since it has been built and it is a great track. Bermuda greens are well kept and lush. Despite the area temps, you can tell they've been maintained and kept long for the weekend golfer. The course design is challenging, yet rewards great shots.
The rough is fair, but unforgiving. The fairways reward well placed drives. The water is a good challenge and not overwhelming. The par 3's are true from the blue tees.
This year, they have added a clubhouse and restrooms on each nine (as it is part of a new development). You can tell management values the investment and good things are to come.
The sand traps need to be tended to and improved, but hopefully you'll stay out of them. Once the grill opens, I suspect this will be a favorite destination for locals as well. I can't wait to get back!
Well done guys.
Great course!
Greens aerated about a month ago but still a bit bumpy. Other than that all good!
Can’t wait to play here again!
Tons of rain in the area but the course was in very playable shape if you kept it in the fairways!
Greens were in great shape. Rolled fast and true.
Would love to get back when things dry out!
Very windy but aimed at the center of the greens and trusted my putter.
Great Course even for a winter round
Weather was a factor as winds added to the challenge of playing a dormant wet track. Always a fun round whether winter or summer.
Very nice facility
Very nice course and facility. Staff was very friendly. Carts are new. Only complaint is the wind. Sometimes tough to putt as you had to brace against the wind. We'll play it again hopefully on a day that is less windy.
Excellent Course
It was my first time playing this terrific course. I was greeted by two friendly and helpful staff, one of whom took me to my cart and explained where everything was. There were free range balls on offer on a well-maintained range that offered numerous targets and turf to hit off. The course is a serious layout. I played from the gold tees which were apparently 5800 yards but played more like 6100 in the cold and the wind.
The only downside is that if you have mobility issues as I do it is a tough walk. In fact, it damned near killed me. I should have checked before I went out to see if they had blue flags and could turn off the automatic shutoff when you venture beyond the cart signs.
In any case, I thought the course was terrific. It was in great shape, especially the greens, and I enjoyed the layout, even though I found it pretty tough. I definitely recommend that anyone in the area play here at least once. You won’t be disappointed.
Great condition
Greens were in great shape. Staff was friendly. Tee boxes and fairways were in good condition for this time of year. Complimentary range balls was a nice touch as well.
Very Nice
Excellent course layout. Demanding but fair. This is not a walking course, must ride due to length between some greens and next tee.
Hidden gem
It's a bit off the beaten path but definitely worth the trip. Greens rolled true and fairways were well taken care of. It's a long and challenging course and makes you have to score when given the chance. Play it when you can
First time at Beaufort
Wonderful course to play. Went by previous reviews to pick a course to play and was not disappointed. Four of us drove 11/2 hours to play and was well pleased with court. Course in excellent shape and look forward to playing again because of not knowing exactly where to place shots and watch out for little ponds behind hills.
Not a walking course. Otherwise not bad
Course was in good condition. At check in I asked if I could walk the course. The person gave the literal answer “yes”. But practically it is a challenging course for walking. I think that the distance from 8 green to 9 tee box was several hundred yards if you followed the path. If you try to cut the distance you need to cross two drainage ditches which did not seem safe. It would be so much better if they constructed a couple foot bridges. There were a few other long stretches from green to next tee.
They are not able to put a bridge in between the ditch because the grass road in the middle is not the golf course property.
