Nice, But
Have been wanting to play this course for a couple of years now, since it is on the way to Myrtle Beach and is a good stop off location for our trips. The staff could not have been more helpful and nicer. The course for the time of year was in very good shape, full of dormant Bermuda grass and the greens showed no signs of damage anywhere. No one can argue with the cost to play. Unfortunately, I found the layout to be one little annoying trick after another. Blind shots and strange little design features that unless you have played the course a couple of times, they will jump up and bite a normally well played shot. The on cart GPS system was so old that it was next to impossible to see the screen, so that helpful tool was of no use. It finally stopped working on #10 and never came back to life again. Really nice people and good conditions, but not worth the stop in the future
Course layout was fun (tighter on the front nine and a little more open on the back) - 5 par 5's and 6 par 3's. Still winter conditions, so fairways and rough were a bit sparse, but playable, and the greens were in good shape. Course was pretty steady/busy, but I was able to play through a few groups and finished in under 4 hours. A very good value with a HotDeal and the staff was very friendly.
Amazing Links Style Course
First of all, it has been over 10 years since I’ve played here. I thoroughly enjoyed our round of golf. Challenging yet simple. I ended up loosing balls not to hazards, but by brush that lines the fairway. Nice kept fairways and greens. Decent rough; very thick! Overall I would love to go back!
Good value
Not too crowded. Course is in pretty good shape. Worth the money.
Fun course
Timberlake is a fun, open course. The greens are friendly. There are challenges, but it's very fair to mistakes.
Great Course
The layout and course conditions where great. The greens that where not punched rolled true. Practice area was in good condition. Small clubhouse but it works.
Wide open - hot day
A little buggy but course seems to be getting better as time progresses. Only played nine, too hot for my wife...
Fun yet challenging course
For a mid handicapper(11) it's fun to play but challenging as well...especially hole #2.. Second time playing there and my score improved as I learn club selection and angles for some of the blind tee shots. definitely in my rotation of courses I'll play at.
Great course at a great rate
For the money you can’t beat it. The course condition is above average and it’s got plenty of challenging holes. Only downside is they don’t sell beer at the course so you better come prepared.
Golf at Timberlake
This was our first time playing Timberlake in three years. We were pleasantly impressed with the improvements since our last play. The putting greens were vastly improved as well as the rest of the course.
There are a couple of holes that could be improved but for the cost it is a good deal.
Another nice day
Wife and I ply once a week. Today was a little soggy and a healthy wind. Helped on some holes, hurt on others. We like it. Used Hot Deals..
No water
All water stations were empty. Course was a little wet but playable. Drains on fairways have eroded leaving holes near the drains. Pace of play was very good. Windy day..
We are glad to hear that you stopped by to play a round at TimeberLake. We pride ourselves in our great customer service so we are happy to hear how helpful everyone was. We apologize for the GPS system in the carts. The course can definitely be tricky, but after playing a few time we feel like you may enjoy it a bit more. We hope you will come out and give us another shot.
