Under-maintained and unfriendly staff
The course was muddy from poor drainage, had numerous unmarked hazards, and was crowded into the surrounding development. It started raining a few holes in and wasn't stopping in the foreseeable future. I went to the pro shop to ask for a rain check for the back. The staff tried to convince me to play in the rain, sell me an umbrella, and make any excuse they could so that they wouldn't have to give me a raincheck. After talking for about 10 minutes the staff decided that I could not receive credit for the remaining holes because I "just wanted to quit". They were not helpful, they were scornful, and I will not play here again.
Perfect
Everything about the course was nice great tea boxes, great layout great pace of play. Great greens, which you could tell they’ve been taken care of. They just had recently sanded and aerated.
Nice Course and Friendly Staff
Hadn’t played here in a couple of years. It has improved since I last played. I was a single that got paired up with another single on a Tuesday around noon time. We were a bit behind a larger group that was finishing up thankfully. Fairways were good and greens in good shape or improving. I will definitely play here again when visiting Tallahassee.
Nice Track
Definitely a course to play again. Very good course design which will challenge your abilities. A Must play!!
Better But still not ‘there’
Greens are much better but still barren in some areas. Cart paths overall still terrible rough, non existent, pace of play slow. Granted day after Christmas. But no Marshall’s , no pace. We skipped 3 holes to avoid overlong waits. Seems to be running on a shoestring budget.
Vastly improved
Being a resident of Tallahassee for years we have seen the ups and downs of all of the courses. Summerbrooke is no exception. After playing on Saturday I was blown away with current conditions. The Management and staff are fully committed to rejuvenating the course. A lot of great strides have taken place in a short amount of time. The course is in great shape and improvements are really just beginning. You need to come play this course. You will be glad you did. It is by far the best value in the area.
Work in progress
This course is working it’s way back into a 4 star course. They are working on the cart paths and other things. There are a few greens that need some work. Love the lay out.
Cart path t
They need to get done repairing the cart paths been in disrepair over a year
poor condition
no grass on tee box
broken cart path
no sand in bunker
green is fast but the ball never roll but bounce to hole due to poor condition.
Nice course
Only problem was the tee boxes were so hard it was difficult to get a tee placed
Great Value
First off I'll start by saying the course isn't at it's true potential yet. Between the storm damage, cart paths and some greens that were in need of attention, it's far from perfect. That being said, it is a fun and challenging layout with lots of elevation changes and very playable now. All the pins were cut on the best part of the greens so putting wasn't bad. They are closing the course for a few days to clean the rest of the storm debris to help with the appearance. It is a great value for the money ( hot deal ). I was first off so pace wasn't an issue. This review might be a little biased since I played really well that day. I shot a 74 and went 1 under through the "Devils Elbow", but the true gem of this course was David in the pro shop.... He couldn't have been more friendly or accommodating!!!
Thank you for a very enjoyable morning. I will definitely be back.
Enjoyble
Friendly greeting and service at pro shop.. We enjoyed our round and were able to ply at a steady pace. Lovely course, beautiful homes lining the fairways.
Jan. 18th Golf
Course is coming around. Owner's are repairing Cartpaths and have cleaned up really nice after Hurricane Michael. There still trying to overcome all the December rain we had 15 inches. If the owners continue the course should be good by March or April. Several Green's still need alot of work but they are mostly Puttable.
Much improved!
Was very surprised to see the advancements made. Fun course. Get ready for a bumpy ride though!
The condition of the course.
I've heard from people in the past that the course was in a fair condition, from my experience, the course was in excellent shape. I enjoyed playing here and will be returning. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Over all great time!
Good Day sir. I was reading your review and just wanted to comment a coupe of things. The part about the course being crowed in the neighborhood is pretty off base in my opinion . Most course are built in subdivisions. Summerbrooke is certainly not different than most course that built into neighborhoods , the house line fairways and typically cart paths cross through the streets . In Tallahassee, Summerbrooke, Killearn, Golden Eagle, Hilaman , and Southwood all have houses on them.
