Sad Summerbrooke
This is the worst course I have ever played. All parts were in bad shape and the greens were full of sand. The sad part is that it could be a great course because of its challenging layout. This was the only course we were able to fit into our schedule, but I would rather have paid twice as much and enjoyed myself. They should not even advertise with the course in this shape
Unplayable
This course has a great layout and used to be a lot of fun. The problem is the conditions of the fairways and greens is always horrible. I came out to Summerbrooke because I heard it was getting better but when I got there it was worse than ever. Now I understand sometimes courses have maintenance but they will usually tell you when you call for a tee time "hey, we just dumped 50 truckloads of sand on the greens and they are unplayable at the moment." See the pic I attached. Very disappointing.
The greens are in horrible condition
I played as a single and got done in 2.5 hours! There was next to nobody on the course so I was able to fly through! The tee boxes need work and I would say are below average. The fairways are in pretty good shape but could use some maintenance and groundskeeping. The greens are not even grass for most of the holes. Just lots of sand! I honestly didn't bother lining up putts because there was no way to read the sand and the ball bounced and moved all over the place.
I was disappointed in how the course has been taken care of. I was here a little more than 6 months ago and the course was in fantastic condition, so I don't know what is going on.
The layout is really fun. Somewhat challenging due to tight fairways and the need to hit over hazards. 15, 16, and 17 are fun and unique holes to play on, so those holes are almost worth playing the course.
I don't think I would pay $20 to play here again until they improve the course.
Poor condition golf course
No upkeep being done at this course greens were unplayable
Greens are awful, course isn't kept up
this course is terribly maintained. I couldn't even stick my tees in the ground at the tee box and the greens were more sand and dirt than grass
Nice course. Great day
Loved it.. Will come back soon.. Greens still need some work. M Mayes ...plated great
Challenging
This course features a hidden fairway as well as water hazzards. Come check it out
Better than before
I've played this course for twenty years and I must say that it seems to be returning to its former glory. Greens are once again puttable. Hope to see this trend continue. Arguably the best layout in tallahassee.
if you love playing the Driver, play this course
There are quite a few long holes here so a driver is needed. For me, I'd rather play a course where I can use the driver more. If you are going to play your friends and keep score...I'd probably go elsewher . There are a few greens that are iffy but not too bad.
The course has an absolutely beautiful layout and to me, makes up for the condition of the course. I used the hotdeals, so for $10, I have no complaints
Give it a try
Course is in the best shape I have ever seen it. Great layout.
Great course
This was a great course to play. I really enjoyed this outing. My only disappointment were the two holes that they are fixing the greens. However, I can understand why the price was low. The fairways were a little hard to that made things pretty challenging since it changes the ability to strike the ball, I had to club down in some cases. Overall, it was a great experience and I will be back when I visit the Tallahassee area again for sure.
Love the layout of the course.
Great time, people are friendly and helpful. AWESOME!
Summerbrooke
The course has had some challenges with maintaining the greens and even some recent vandalism. That being said it is still a great value for the price. It is filled with beautiful north Florida scenery.
Great time
A great time was had by all and we will definitely be back sooner than later! Awesome and super friendly people.
A Good Game
Summerbrooke has come a long way in the last six months. The greens are in good shape and they have cleaned up the fairways.
The course is pretty challenging with some fun holes at 3, 7 and 15.
Very challenging course
Enjoyed playing here. Some of the tee boxes were extremely hard to get a tee in, but other than that enjoyed playing. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely be going back.
Fun day of golf
I really enjoyed the course with the exception of the greens. The greens were in pretty rough shape. I really liked the layout of the course.
Much improved from 6 months ago! Fun course!
I got a Hot Deal price of $10 so I feel like that's a great deal for 18 holes! I played this course in May and they made lots of improvements since then. The greens were absolutely terrible the last time I played and they showed the most improvement. I would say that 5-6 greens are still pretty sandy and in bad shape, but they are working to get them better. I can tell they are planting and working on getting new grass for the greens. The fairways were fantastic and the tee boxes were pretty good.
It hadn't rained in a few weeks but the course was wet in several areas. Some of the bunkers had water pool inside and others were pretty muddy. Some parts of the course was wet but it looked like they are working on their irrigation system.
I honesty don't know what people are complaining about this course for. Sure it is not up to the par of Southwood or the other Elite golf courses, but this is a really fun and overall pretty good course.
Played at 12PM and I literally didn't see another group playing the whole day.
If you are looking for tournament conditions, do not play here. If you are looking for a relaxing round of golf with nice natural Florida scenery and for a cheap price, play here!
Save your money - stay away!!!
If you are paying money to play this "golf course" you were robbed. The conditions are an embarrassment to real golf courses. No grass on tee boxes, hard pan all over the place, sand traps that have no sand (were actually filled with water), and greens that you are best just to take no more than two putts and pick up.
The real shame here is that this is a really tough golf design layout. If you cannot hit a straight tee shot you will lose your ball. Your margin for error is minimal, as there are trees and houses lining the entire golf course. So because the conditions are so bad, new ownership in an attempt to generate revenue has lowered the rates to really affordable, which attracts new golfers and people who don't want to pay a lot for a round of golf because it's not worth it to them because their game is too new or that bad. So they pay a little and come here, and think they are actually playing golf. But it actually hurts your game playing here, as you aren't hitting real shots off of hard pan, and dirt, or putting on greens that aren't worthy of being called golf greens.
What pains me through all of this is that I live less than 3 miles from this place. To play a real golf course I'm forced to drive at least 30 minutes, when I could just come here. But this is not a real golf course in any way, shape or form. I still love the layout, but the frustration with lack of grass and playing on dirt does not even justify paying any amount of money to abuse myself for 3 or 4 hours.
Worst Course Conditions Ever
Obviously course maintenance is not a concern here.
If you are unlucky enough to hit in the rough kiss your ball goodbye. The tee boxes are an overgrown weed patch. The greens have fungus. The fairways are a mess. The traps have standing water.
We were visiting in Tallahassee and made this disaster area our choice to play. What a mistake. I have never played a course anywhere in worse shape. It's a pretty enough setting but it looks like they quit even the most basic of course maintenance. Would never recommend this course to anyone.
