Challenging fairways
The course offers challenging fairways but the greens could use a little better care.
Has Great Potential
Tee boxes and fairways were all in great condition, greens were a 6 out of 10, but you can tell they are working on bringing them back. There is a stretch of 7 par 4s between holes 7 through 13 that get a little monotonous; it would be nice to break that up. Pace of play was fantastic and the holes are spread out nicely. Summerbrooke has some really gorgeous par 3s and has the potential to be the most gorgeous course in Tallahassee.
Improving!
The course is getting in better shape. The fairways are improving. Some of the greens still need work, but they are working on them. It's encouraging!
Course is in rough shape
The greens had sand on them, the division between fairway and rough was difficult because of how the grass is being cut. The 7th hole had the pin placed in the FAIRWAY 25 yards IN FRONT OF THE GREEN!! Summerbrooke needs to step it up or shut it down.
This course has great design...
Need to do work on their greens, and tee box. Other than that the course is set up nice, narrow and challenging.
Love the layout and some of the signature holes!
Was in Tallahassee for business so decided to play a round the day before my meeting. Called SummerBrooke and found them very friends and courtesy on the phone and even more friendly in person, from the pro shop folks to the sweet cartgirls. I wish more courses were as nice and friendly as they were.
As far as the course, great layout and in great condition. A couple of the par 3s (one over water and the other over a deep ravine) was very cool. Wish I could have played then twice, but then I loose enough golf balls as it is. I also wish I had time to take a dip in that nice pool they have beside the course.
Anyway, very cool course and awesome people working there. I think I even met the owner who was a very nice guy who took the time to help with some dinner recommendations and directions.
This is a great course for my level of play-easy holes and challenging holes
The staff at SummerBrooke are very friendly. A great place to eat and swim and play golf. I will return at every opportunity.
Great course Layout, terrible playing conditions
Course conditions were terrible. Greens were unputtable. It was almost impossible to find descent grass lie in the fairway. Greens were punched two weeks ago and still have large unfilled holes. Several Tee boxes were bare sand. I''ve played this course on and off for 10 years and it just doesn't get better.
course needs work
The course is in very bad condition. The greens were being aerated ( notice of this would have been welcomed) and so I will not include them as a reason for the course conditions being terrible. The rest of the course was not in playing condition.
Excellent layout but poor condition.
It's too bad that the course is in such poor shape. Overall, the layout is great and the design of the course is well thought out. The greens are in the worse possible shape. One of the holes in the front nine is actually in the fairway with no distinctive difference from the rough. The sand bunkers are hard red clay, but at least you don't have to rake your way out. The staff is extremely friendly and the service is top notch. On service alone I'd give them five stars. This course is great for beginners or as a practice course.
Great layout, terrible condition
I try this course about once a year because the layout of the back 9 is so different for this area, but once again, I've been let down by the poor conditions. Hardpan in fairways, sand on parts of the green. If this was cared for like Seminole or Southwood it would be a regional draw.
really amazing par 3s
This course was really fun. There are 3 back to back to back holes on the back nine that were super challenging and fun to look at. Make sure to bring your sun glasses or else you'll have a problem seeing the flag on the par 3 ninth. Carts were a little slow but fun to drive in some of the rollercoaster paths. Will play again.
This is a very challening course with some tight and sloping fairways
The greens were not in the best of shape. They had recent placed sand on the greens which was not listed on Golfnow.
