Great Challenging Course
Golf course was well manicure and the layout was challenging. The clubhouse staff was very friendly and the practice area was large and well equipped. Large putting green, nice range, and separate chipping/bunker practice area. The course will challenge any level of golfer. And with 5 sets of tees to choose from one can make it as difficult or easy.
Very good course.
Nice, true greens that putt well. Course has nice elevation changes that demand accuracy and judgement.
Good layout
Biggest problem is pace of play. No marshall or starter on course. This course had a rough winter and is getting back into decent shape but the pace of play is beyond ridiculous.
If I can play Torrey Pines in 4 hours there is no reason for any course to take 5 hours to play.
Get a starter and someone to move slow players along so everyone can enjoy the round - especially for the price Meadowlands charges. Price does not equal the experience due to pace of play.
Great golf day from start to finish
Staff was very polite and accommodating. No wait time and course was in great shape.
Nice course better than expected
Nice layout... better than expected. they should do better about keeping small kids off the course.
Good Round
This course had a rough last year but we were pleased to find the course is back in good condition. There had been some construction on the course and problems with the greens over the last year. This was our first time back to the course since these troubles. Clubhouse staff honored my golf now tee time even though I had a scheduling conflict and had to change times. Staff could not have been friendlier and the course conditions are back to what they should be for this layout and quality course. Pace of play was good and the course was in good shape. Glad to have Meadowlands back in the rotation.
Overall, nice course
For the most part, the course was in good shape. Only real disappointment was the greens which were very slow. The lips on some of the cups were raised, did not do a good job of placing the cups.
Great Golf course
This was a really nice layout. The greens were a tad slow, but it had received a couple of inches of rain over the past few days. The pace of play was a little slow for a early afternoon tee time.
wonderful
We love meadowlands. Particularly the greens. They are not easy, but are very well cared for, and roll true ( fast ). Meadowlands is quickly becoming one of our favorite local courses. Top notch
Nice course/Nice round
Nice layout with plenty of elevation changes. For the most part it was pretty clear where you needed to put the shots. We had to go forward to have a look at the landing area on only one hole. Other than a few patches that they were working on, the fairways and greens were in good condition and the bunkers groomed. The greens were a tad slower than I am used to but not difficult to read -- only a couple of three-putts and those were where my approach shots left long first putts. A couple of the tees were pretty ragged and need some TLC.
The pace of play was right at four hours even with a slow twosome in front of our threesome. But the minor delays were offset by getting to talk more with a great friend who I don't get to see or play with often enough.
The pro shop attendant was most congenial. The young lady tending the snack bar was quick, courteous and very easy on the eyes. The folks working on the fairways and greens seemed alert to approaching groups and courteously cleared the way for us to play through.
I will look forward to playing this course again.
Bogey conditions
Greens were slow. Conditions might improve after construction of new homes
Nice Course
Well kept and challenging course. Staff was very friendly. Pace of play was ideal. Well run course. We'll be back
Great for the money
I used golfnow and got a great deal. Course was in great condition and not crowded. However the grounds crew were awful to deal with. One guy kept mowing back and forth right in front of me on the range!! Literally 5 feet in front of me. I actually had to take a step back once. Either he didnt speak english or ignored our attempts to ask him to stop. Also, on more than one hole there were trucks driving back and forth across the fairway where they must have been working on something. And yes, they would go no matter if we were about to tee off or not. If it wasnt for the maintenance crew it was a great value.
much different than normal Meadowlands
payed for a single round but was paired up w/ 2 others. we played as a 3-some. That was the only pleasant part of the round. The good company made up for the rest of the awful happenings of the day. We got behind 2 guys playing as the last group in a tournament. First of all, what course schedules a tournament on Mother's Day? Next, it would have been nice to have been informed of the tournament before paying or teeing off. All we got was an apology after hole 4 that it was playing so slow. It would have been nice if the management would have compensated us for the inconvenience with a free round or at least a free greens fee for the next visit. The pace of play was horrible! I noticed at 4 hours we had just finished hole 14. It took over 5 hours to complete the round. There were several bad patches on the greens (at least they did inform me on golfnow.com about the re-working of the greens from the winter harsh weather). but the fairways were average condition at best. There were quite a few dead spots throughout the course. I've played Meadowlands several times before and the course has never been in this poor of a condition, and obviously from the comments above the pace of play was the worst I have seen in a very long time. I was expecting a fairly smooth round due to it being Mother's Day and thought there wouldn't be a lot of people playing. Well, there weren't a lot of people, just several slow pokes holding everyone up. I guess due to the tournament, the standard rule of golf to let a faster group play through did not come into effect for this particular round. Needless to say, this slow play sucked all of the enjoyment out of the round for me. I could not get into a rhythm of any kind to even have a decent round of golf. I'll certainly remember to ask next time if there is a tournament or anything ahead of me that might slow down the pace of play. Certainly the slight savings I got through purchasing through golfnow.com did not make up for the bad experience
Great track!
Will be back soon! Really enjoyed the layout and course conditions.
Okay
We were aware the greens did not do well this past winter and they weren't great. Everything else was just fine.
greens had a lot of poanna
Played back nine first greens where mostly poanna, The front nine the greens where better.
Good for $35 Sunday. Greens need some work
Overall the course was in good shape. The bunkers were all raked and the fairways were good and smooth and the rough was thick but not too thick.
The Bermuda still hasn't came out full but it should be by end of the month.
One hole you have to hit from the ladies tee making it a 277 yd par 4 due to some major grading work. Possibly building a new housing development. Also the construction comes into play noise wise on a previous hole.
Greens were in rough shape. They had spots and some were patched with rough spots. Also the greens were bumpy and would throw my putts off. The greens were challenging when it came to speed. The ball would run forever on chips making it a challenge to have a chip close and one putt. Overall enjoyable experience and would recommend. Hopefully this summer some maintenance can be done to the greens.
