No grass on the greens
I played this course earlier this spring and course was in good shape. Played in July and the greens were in very poor condition. The greens had very little grass and what grass they had a not mowed. Very disappointing!!!!
No Greens
The greens are nonexistent, the sand traps had more grass than the greens. I feel sorry for the members that are stuck with this.
Where's the goats?
I've seen animal pastures with better grass. Don't believe the sand traps have been raked in weeks. Hate to see such a nice layout wasted on poor conditions.
great course
Loved it, however the sand traps could use some sand
Great course
Course is coming along great. Pace of play is always nice with little to no wait. Greens look great and not too fast. I play here all the time and for the money it's the best value anywhere near florence.
Bargain
For 10 bucks, you can't beat the value. The greens weren't good but overall it was fine.
Terrible Condition
Thought I was getting a steal for $20 a round but this course was in such bad shape, I felt I overpaid. Putted through a lot of mud and dead grass. I don't remember ever playing on a course with greens this bad. Its a shame because this course has a really good layout and I can remember times when it was fun to play.
Poor conditions
Fairways had very little grass and the greens had dead grass. It's a shame because it has a great layout but they obviously haven't kept up with the maintenance.
Challenging Course
I would give this course 4 stars but after playing at some courses in the mountains and at the beach, I am a little spoiled. For this area, this is one of the nicer courses to play at. The facilities are outdated and not much on the menu for food and drinks.
Well designed course.
Fairways and greens were not in good condition. If well kept, this course can be one of the best courses.
Well designed and challenging course.
A great course to challenge for Accuracy!
This is a very challenge course designed for accuracy players. Narrow fairways, numerous bunkers and waters, high rough, and the difficult topology of green, plus few of greens are not regulated by the slopes with tricks.
A great place to play!
Could use some work
Weather did a number on this place. Used to be a bit better. They've been working on the greens but doesn't seem to be helping much. Staff is nice depending on who you get. Crowd here is younger than most places. Layout is fantastic. Par 5s are great challenge. 18th have to play perfect to par.
Greens are absolutely horrible!
So, called course and asked about going off early on a Monday, was told it was fine. Asked about course condition and was told that it was in great shape, but had recently punched the greens. Well, that would be the understatement of the year. Not only were the greens recently punched/sanded, they are at least 50% dead. Some greens only had grass covering 15-20% of the surface. If you live within 10 minutes, not a bad value if you are looking to work on on your fairway and approach game. To blatantly lie to someone that is driving an hour is not a way to gain return business. Hopefully they can get the fungus/growth problem figured out on the greens, but I would steer clear for at least the next 4-6 weeks.
Nice layout
The course has a nice layout, however the cart paths haven't been managed well, and I wouldn't call the course "manicured" however they have put work into the greens which now play faster than they used to. Good course to play for the money.
A bit different. They say "The Crossings".
Staff were helpful on a competition day (not shown on Golf Now), putting us off at the tenth. Some delays still. The Tom Jackson design is fair, varied and interesting, with fast, generally true greens. Overall, some maintenance is needed. Carts are still motored.
Great Features on this course
This was a fun and challenging golf course. The staff was great. The course is well maintained and in great shape. I am looking forward to playing there again soon.
Needs some water on the fairways
tee boxes and greens are watered but fairways are bone dry. Many fairways with no grass to hit off.
Improving course
I have played this course two times in the past three weeks and the course has looked better each time. I played this course at the beginning of the year and it is much improved. This course is for all levels of golfers.
