Tega Cay Golf Club - The Pines
About
Conveniently located just minutes from Charlotte and Rock Hill, Tega Cay Golf Club offers 27 holes of golf in a stunning setting. Surrounded by Lake Wylie, Tega Cay, which means "beautiful peninsula," in Polynesian, spans across a lush landscape of rolling hills blanketed with mature trees. Aside from the scenery, the club stands out for being the only 27-hole facility in the area. The holes are divided into three distinct nines, which can be played in different 18-hole combinations. The Grande View and the Pines are both longer and more challenging than the Cove nine, but the Pines is slightly more forgiving. The bunkering is modest but strategically placed and there are water hazards coming into play as well. There are some challenging holes throughout all of the golf courses at Tega Cay, but overall they are playable for all skill levels.

Great place to play
I played this course and must say that for the $22.00 price this was unbelievable. I easily would've paid twice that amount. The staff was friendly and the course is in great shape. I will be back to play.
We will return
Challenging for those who play occasionally but enjoyable. Grounds are great. Looking forward to take the challenge very soon!
Weeds! Weeds! Weeds!
The Cove 9 was in terrible condition. Fairways, rough and greens had weeds all over the place!! Sometimes the best lie was on the weeds instead of grass. Greens way too slow. Need to shut this 9 down and work on it before opening to play!! Worst course I've played this year!!
Very nice, very tough.
Course was in excellent condition. Staff was super friendly. Course is not super long, but it is challenging. Fairways are wide, but the rough is really rough. If you go off the fairway forget it, you are taking a drop. I need more practice before taking this course on again. With that said, I had an awesome time even with the 8 drops I took. It can be discouraging to some, but I look forward to challenge again. Greens are smooth and large. Not too fast, not too slow, just right.
Interesting
Course was in very very good shape. Most holes are very tight and relatively short. Lots of dramatic elevation changes. Short par fives. It's a fun course but it is not one for somebody who loves to hit the driver all the time.
Okay course but would not seek it out
Played the course while on business in Charlotte. Managed to get in a round late afternoon after much rain which meant cart path only. Course has some good views with elevation changes on most holes and many uneven lies. Local knowledge would be a plus. Course is in okay condition and some of the hole locations are a bit confusing.
Could Have Used A Boat
Everything the course could control was great. Unfortunately they had no control of the weather. The place looked so good driving in that the inclination to play was overwhelming, so our duck instincts kicked in and we gave it a go. My playing partner was off on Monday and we had cancelled a round previously due to rain so this was our last chance to play and we did. Taking the rain out this was fun and the rain somehow added to the experience. I can't wait to play here again on a sunny day.
Good Shape
The course is in very good shape and provides lot's of challenges, especially for your average golfer.
Course is OK, facility's are excellent
Course not as well marked for yardage as most courses. Trouble judging distance due to lack of yard markers.
great course for the money
course was in great shape the only problem i had was on the back side i got behind a group of 4 ladies playing together i was a single and they would not let me play through so i picked up my ball and drove around them to the next hole and teed off!!!!
Raymond Musser
Great course. Very friendly staff. Lots of nature to see. Any wife would love to come and watch. Bunnies, deer etc all over the course.
Greens Not in good shape
The greens had recently been aerated and were thus in extremely tough shape.
The course just had the greens punched
The greens were just punched and the website did not inform me of this. I would have play a different course if this had been disclosed. I had just played this course Sunday before and the course was wonderful. That is why I invited others to come from out of town to play the course. I was very upset and embarrassed that the greens were punched and there was no notification of this on the website when I purchased the tee times.
Overall Good Experience and Great Value!
This course is a great value! Overall, the course was in good shape and we had a fun day. The staff was not very friendly when we checked in but with minimal interaction with them it was fine. There is also no signage for the cart return and at least 10 people asked that we heard. Those are picky things, but great time!
Pleased
This is a very nice golf course. The layout is very scenic. Especially Grandview that winds throughout the development. You really have to pay attention and stay on the cart path. If not, lose your way. :)! The greens are fast, which is the way I like them. "Go play-ee".
HIghly recommend
Course was in great shape and challenging. The elevation changes and layout reminded me of mountain golf. You definitely do not feel like you are in SC. Kicking myself for not playing this course before this and definitely plan to return.
great greens
great greens! course plays longer than it says. great course overall
Slow slow slow
It took me 5.5 to 6 hours to play 18! The cove course which is a 9 hole course is in TERRIBLE condition! I thought I would go out and try this course again after 2 years and I'm still very disappointed in pace of play and overall conditions.
Great value
a nice course and facility for the money. challenging but at same time not to hard to score well. There are a few holes that level out the easier ones. The staff is awesome and bar and food prices are very good. Has the feel of a private club. Definitely recommend giving it a try. Book online and save a few bucks.
..would be very tough course to walk though. very hilly and large distances between greens and tee boxes.
Enjoyable Course
The course was in good shape and the staff was friendly. The pace of play was slow and it took a while under someone came by the move the pace of play. Other than it being a long round, I really enjoyed the layout and conditions. I really liked the greens and some of the holes had really nice elevation changes (downhill) from the tee boxes.
