Tega Cay Golf Club - The Pines
About
Conveniently located just minutes from Charlotte and Rock Hill, Tega Cay Golf Club offers 27 holes of golf in a stunning setting. Surrounded by Lake Wylie, Tega Cay, which means "beautiful peninsula," in Polynesian, spans across a lush landscape of rolling hills blanketed with mature trees. Aside from the scenery, the club stands out for being the only 27-hole facility in the area. The holes are divided into three distinct nines, which can be played in different 18-hole combinations. The Grande View and the Pines are both longer and more challenging than the Cove nine, but the Pines is slightly more forgiving. The bunkering is modest but strategically placed and there are water hazards coming into play as well. There are some challenging holes throughout all of the golf courses at Tega Cay, but overall they are playable for all skill levels.

Senic Course
This is an excellent public course with 3 nines and friendly staff. I would certainly recommend it.
Challenging course
Beautiful course which offers though tactical choices to good players due to the incredible height differences! Challenging!
Will definetely go back. Very good value for money!
Met really nice other golfers
I was a single and these great made me feel welcome thanks Tega Cay
Great day at Tega Cay
Enjoyed a marvelous day. Got paired up with 3 great guys (Mike, Kevin, Tony) and had more fun than I'm normally. Thanks for a great day guys! Greens in good shape and the course just challenging enough but fair.
Good layout...tight to be careful using driver
Great starter. Very pleasant. Some very tight holes so sometimes best to leave the driver in the bag and play for position. Fairways and rough dormant but greens were very good and nice to putt. Was paired up with 3 others and we had a fun day.
Nice day
Good weather for a round of golf at Tega Cay. It'll be better once the fairways are green.
Nice members
Play here often and have reviewed a couple of times. Had a really good experience today that I wanted to share. Went out by myself and ended getting hooked up with three members that the girl in the pro shop introduced me to. We had a great match and I exchanged info with all 3 guys. I'm joining them again on Saturday. I was prepared to go out on my own and the girl came and got me stating that she thought I'd fit in well with these guys. Most places would have just let me tee off as a single. Thought that was cool, thought I'd share. Thank you pro shop!
Very fun 9
Played in winter conditions but course held up quite well. Definitely need to manage this 9 as there are difficult approaches. Overall very fun 9 where every hole is unique.
Great Experience
Tega Cay is extremely well run facility. It isn't missing a thing, new electric carts, great practice facilities, great bar and restaurant, you won't be disappointed with the experience. The course has a great diverse layout that doesn't get boring at all. We played it under pretty wet conditions and it definitely drains pretty slowly and can impact the play on some holes. Despite that fact the greens are in great and quick shape even now in the early spring. When it dries out this Summer I look forward to some great golf.
Great experience again
The golf course was really wet after weeks of snow and rain. There were two Rangers which were very friendly and helpful to keep the round moving. It's can be really slow when cart path only but a great job here. I can't wait for nicer weather because this golf course is going to be really really good this year.
Grande View is awesome
Went out today and course was really slow due to bad weather. The shop had no problem letting me tee off and play the back nine. This is my favorite 9 holes of golf anyehere! Really wet but still in good shape and fun!
Up and Down Likeable Terrain
I played this course with my adult son unfortunately on a rainy day. The golf carts were superb. The Terrain requires a well tuned cart. We enjoyed the layout and the greens were in great shape. It rained fairly hard for 7 holes but we completed 18 with pretty good scores. We would love to play this course again after a dry spell to get more roll on 1st and 2nd shots.
Excellent Pro Shop Staff
Good value for Money. Needs to be rangered more aggressively.
Course has many fine improvements over the past year.
Great Winter Time Conditions
Very surprised how good the greens were for this time of year. Golf Shop staff remembered my name and treated me as if I were a member. Will definitely go back soon!
Great course
Back nine is the best, it took a lot longer to play since we couldn't drive the cart on the course that day.
Great Ciyrse
Interesting layout. Played in winter conditions, but still well worth it - great deal on Tee Time
Challenge Tega Cay
I think this is one of the best public courses in Charlotte. It plays shorter, but it's in great condition. The greens are well maintained and very fast. A low handicap can par this course if you keep it in the fairway. Very nice layout.
Really cool track
Jumped off the plane, got here in time to squeeze in 18. Played Grande/Pines. Totally worth it. I gave a bunch of shots away b/c I didn't know the course, but was impressed with the views from tee. (I would recommend playing w someone who knows). Elevation changes everywhere, some blind tee shots, great looking approach shots. Lots of Bermuda grass, all in great shape. Greens were stupid fast, but once u get that, they played true. Bunkers were great. This is a really good course. I'd play here every day, no shizz.
Fun Course
Course is in good condition overall, greens were great (really fast). Got a little bit of everything on this course: elevation, vistas, water, sand, blind doglegs… a real challenge.
Excellent
Course was in great condition from fairways to rough to sand traps to green. Greens were super fast and rolled true. Fun layout, especially back nine. Cousre isn't very long but elevation changes make it challenging for club selection. Will return again and again.
