Barely average course
I should have known that $30 for prime time 18 holes with a golf cart was too good to be true. This course was awful. Every hole I had to wait 10-15 minutes to tee off, and this was on a Monday. Course conditions were awful, the tee boxes looked like an overgrown middle school baseball field that has weeds growing in the sand. If they had good course maintenance I’d put my review at 3 stars. Never coming here again
Fun course
Course was pretty dry in spots but it’s a nice layout. And for $25 it’s an amazing value, will definitely be coming back.
First Time this Year
Always enjoy playing this course. Nice layout and affordable.
Good For the money but…
Good course… lots of trees making a slight ob shot difficult. Tee boxes were rough on majority of the holes kind of hard to find a patch of grass to tee off on. The thing that was the worst is the lack of a ranger. Played as a duo with a buddy and by hole 4 got stuck behind a few senior foursomes that really destroyed our pace and ended up turning a 18 hole game into almost 5 hours
Place just never improves
Course is in bad condition. There are no good spots to hit on the tee boxes. Fairways are rock hard… it’s better to be in the rough as long as you’re not behind one of the million trees on this course. The greenskeeper is the worst part about this course; the pin placements are extremely difficult on many holes. A lot of the pin placements are what you would expect to see on the last day of a pro tournament, not a dive course that is filled with seniors and people trying to learn how to play. This is their way of making the course difficult and it works. Not to mention, the speeds are inconsistent as well. It’s an okay place if you want to have a cheap round, but don’t take things too seriously at this course.
Decent course
Pretty decent course. Hilly. Challenging on a few holes. A little confusing when trying to find the next tee off box as some of the signs or hard to see or not there and the layout can throw off first timers. All in all good price and fair course.
Good beginner course, but the conditions are pretty bad
Second time playing the course and being the first summer I’ve played golf it’s been a good course to play with little OB and forgiving rough. But tarter playing other golf courses in the northwest burbs this is without a doubt the worst kept course I’ve played at. It’s tough to distinguish the fairways from the rough, tee boxes are about 50% grass and 50% dirt. Even some of the green had large patches of dirt on them. A good course to play for value if you’re a beginner but not one I would frequently come and play time and time again.
Okay for the money you pay
Perfect course for a low price and low key round. Fairways are dry and hard as usual, greens are soft as usual but in okay shape, tee boxes are horrendous. Most lies are tight, so don’t expect to be taking huge divots with each swing. Place is riddled with seniors and young people, both of which don’t have good feel for courtesy or general golf etiquette. Last time I went here an old dude had a heat stroke in front of us right in the middle of the green! But you can’t expect etiquette when you come here. This is a place you come for practice rounds or to drink with your friends. Also a very popular course for faculty outings and leagues… afternoon rounds can be very slow.
Good variety of hole types. Mostly short par 4s but some have a little length. Par 3s of all types, and the longest par 5 in Illinois (from the tips). Some of the greens are very difficult and sometimes they put the pins in near-illegal locations which is frustrating.
The green's were true and well maintained. Fairways needed a little work also the teeboxs could use some care. Overall it was a great challenge. Lots of old trees. Hills and valleys. Hitting the Fairways will reward you.. Great course.
