Great deal
You can’t beat this deal in the greater St. Louis area.
Slow pace
Pace was crawling. Three hour front then left after seeing five groups waiting on ten.
Spencer T
Always a challenge ...beautiful course....greens putted very well......fairway zozsia always a pleasure....played it 100 times...love it
Still one of the better courses in the area
Spencer T continues to be one of the best courses in the area. If I had to list one issue...playing on the weekend gets to be a little long as there doesn't appear to be a marshal on the course. The last two outings have been a little on the slow. One other minor thing I would consider would be having a beverage cart making the rounds. If there was a beverage cart making rounds, the slow play would be a little easier to deal with.
Overall the course is one of my favorites to play. I'll definitely be returning.
AsAlways
As always spencer t did not disappoint me and my fellow golfers in any way. Great place to play a round of golf , if i had to say one thing negative , it would be the pin placement was rather challenging considering the well maintained and fast greens!!!
muni of this quality is rare
Great variety of holes. Nice piece of property, with some changes in topography. No homes along the course. Greens were in good condition. They have a lot of slope and break. What an asset to have a muni of this quality. Can see why it has hosted USGA events. A course of this quality for this price is bound to draw a lot of players.. It was packed and pace of play was slow, our foursome waited on almost every hole. Also, tees and fairways are dormant, with no overseed. Would recommend, as long as you can handle the pace. Maybe bring a book to read.
Good Conditions For November
Spencer T. Olin is one of my favorite St. Louis metro golf courses. This course tests all parts of your game, especially your putting. Lot of slope on these greens.
The conditions were very good for late November. The greens had small aeration punch marks. There was no sand on the greens and these holes really did not affect your putting. The greens were fast and true,
Pace of play was outstanding. The course did allow a fivesome which we played through. You are also allowed to get single carts if you want.
Slooooow Play
Love this course but every time I am plagued with slow motion golf. 4 hrs for 18 on a Tuesday afternoon is ridiculous what is a weekend like? Do you need a hotel room? 5 somes and yes, even a 6 some today!
Course in its usual great shape, save the standard Metro Least moonscape greens thanks to bumpkins that don’t know how to repair ball marks, cmon hicks, getcha a divot tool for Christmas!!
Awesome layout, above average conditions for October, will be back
I played a partial round a couple years back before thunder and lightning prematurely ended a tournament. Finally got back out there and the course did not disappoint. Best conditions of any public course I've played the past two month that have been very dry. Tee boxes, fairways and greens in great shape. A ton of fun with wide views out of the tee box, rewarded for accurate drives, and technical greens. Staff could afford to smile, but will be back based on the golf, not the warmth of service.
