Great Round
Overall it was a great round of golf. The young staff could use some customer service skills. But overall course is in real good shape.
terrible staff unless you're a member
I visit this course frequently but after the events that went down yesterday I will never mention this course to anybody. I went with one other person and our tee time was at 2:22. We arrived at 2:15 and got checked in along with getting a few items from the clubhouse. Meanwhile two people who had a tee time after ours(2:27)walk into the pro shop and let the staff know they're members and walking. As we are making our way to the tee box the two members made sure to high tail it to the tee box before we could even get done checking out. After letting the staff know what had just happened and how they should abide by the tee time and if not then there's no point in having a tee time. One of the members had the audacity to tell me that we were late and that those two ladies were members and can do as they please. Well I showed the guy my receipt which states I was 5 MINUTES EARLY and this wouldn't be an issue if they allowed us to tee off on 10, mind you that nobody was making the turn from 9, so that way we wouldn't be stuck behind the two walkers. He tells us that you can't do that because we would hold the course up and tells us to wait at the tee box where two others decide to jump ahead of us pushing our tee time back even further. After letting it go and continuing to play at a very slow pace we make the turn at 9 to see that they just let 3 walkers go ahead of us on 10. Clearly breaking the same rule he told us he couldn't do. The level of disrespect the staff has shown me has made me decide to never come back. I don't care if it was tiger woods you don't treat a paying customer that way and you don't disregard the tee times all because "they're members." Once more I will never allow my friends to go to this course and I hope you all choose not to as well.
Great course
The layout was outstanding with greens in great condition. Pace of play was a little slow but they had a normal group in front of us so it was to be expected. If you get a chance play this course. Very favorable tee shots with little chance to lose balls except for a few holes. Back side to me played much harder than front side.
Seminole fun
Excellent value for the money. I always enjoy Seminole
Soooo Slow!
If you like to play rounds in 3.5 hours or less (for a twosome) than this course is not for you. This course is consistently slow. Whenever we play there the round is usually 4.5+ hours long and typically averages over 5 hours. We have tried several different tee times to beat the crowds but to no avail. There is never a marshal on the course to assess the pace of play and typically there are 2 to 3 groups on one hole. The management recently decided to make the back 9 the front and I believe this is contributing greatly to the slow play. The course is always in good shape but just be prepared for a long day of golf.
This course is in excellent condition
I want to play the course again. the course are in very good condition
Great course
Played on Saturday midday and course was in great shape. A little busy so there was some waiting but awesome course for the money. I will play again.
Excellent value
Really an excellent value. Good layout and very good shape
Thank you for your kind comments. We appreciate your business! Go Noles!
Seminole fan on a Seminole course
My wife and I were in Tallahassee for our daughters FSU graduation. I booked two tee times, supposedly at Seminole Golf Course. This was our first time playing the course. The course had a tournament 29 April so they seemed busy with the tournament participants. I drove and my wife flew due to work schedules. Her clubs didn't arrive so we had to rent clubs for her. The pace of play was great for such a busy time and so many people in town for the graduation. We were able to play our round in 4 1/2 hours. The second day we arrived at the course for a 8:06 tee time. One problem, I scheduled the tee time at a different course. The staff was very nice and were able to give us a 8:35 tee time without no questions asked. The second day we played with a brother twosome and the experience was great. We had a twosome pushing us but this was a Saturday and the course was full. The greens, fairways and the course in general were in great shape. I would play this course again and would recommend it for anyone visiting Tallahassee. Thank you for making our golf experience in Seminole country wonderful!
We appreciate your kind comments! Thank you for your business! Go Noles! Scalp 'em!
Best around
Good time, little crowded but was beautiful weekend day so should be expected.
Course is in best shape I have ever seen
I frequent this course at least once every six months and can honestly say that the course is in the best condition I have seen it in. The greens are the best in town! Tough to figure out, but looked in great condition. Fairways look pretty good as well. The tee boxes get lots of wear, but they are about as good as you can expect with such a busy course.
The rough has finally been trimmed and landscaped. A few months back, it was so thick any ball that went in was likely lost. Much better condition now.
They also recently flipped the 9's, and I think this was a good idea. The now finishing 18 is a perfect ending hole!
Saw the cart girl multiple times, though she did end around 3:30 for the day. Bathrooms on the course were under construction/closed.
If you have never tried this course, I don't know what you have been waiting on. Will be back again!
Great Course
Played this course while I was in town for a family event. The course was in good shape and the greens were in great shape. Layout was terrific. You can see what's up ahead without any guessing or needing to drive up. We did have to deal with slow play, something noted on reviews before. The group in front of us just did not play fast at all. It took us 4:45 minutes for 18.
Perplexed At Seminole
Be prepared for a very long round now that the newer management have decided to switch the back with the front. We've played there twice with the new format and both times pace of play has been much worse than before. Management says they changed it to improve pace of play & because this was the original design. What used to be the back is much more challenging so most golfers are having trouble right from the first tee into #2 & #3 which are even tougher holes. The old #1 was a much more forgiving starting hole which allowed most folks to get off to a fast start. It would also help tremendously if they put a starter at the first tee once again and had marshals on the course to assess pace of play. With the way it is now we may not play there much especially on the weekends. It just takes too long.
Noles Do It Right
I was very pleased with the Seminole course...especially the true, fast greens. I would recommend it over the much more publicized Southward course or Killearn CC. I'll play this course again when I visit Tallahassee.
The trip to the beach
I had a great time playing this course. Although my game was not on that day, I got to visit most of the bunkers and the sand was well maintained and didn't have any spots holding water or playing out of clay. The course is forgiving so it a great place to be if you are a weekend golfer. The greens are some of the best in town.
Great greens
Probably the best greens in town. Plan on playing again soon.
Last Week of Sept.
Course was in great shape and the greens were fast but not too firm that approach shots were not sticking close to divots.
New rough
Seminole now has a treacherous 2nd cut of rough. It use to be where the second cut, which only plays 8-10 yds off the fairway, was maybe shoe/ankle high. Now it's knee high British open type rough. Still manage to shoot an 88. The new found rough added 4 stokes to my scorecard. Will still play here but not as frequently. Also would say it has taking away some of the aesthetics of the course.
