Good course, Bad quirks
I've have played this course many times, being that this is 1 of 3 playable courses in Tally. I probably like using Seminole as more of a practice facility, the range and chipping green is nice, despite their use of the artificial mats which leave a green film on the bottom of your clubs that's fairly difficult to get off. The thing with this course and range alike is it's ALWAYS pretty packed with slow pace of place. The have a walking student/member rates that's well taken advantage of past 2, the the problem really comes down to the ill-maintained rough that's knee deep and literally impossible to find a golf ball unless your right on top of it. It is to muy understanding they are actually in the process of closing the fairways in and adding a first cut, that could be why they haven't cut the rough in several weeks. The greens, fairways, and boxes are very nice and maintained regularly. So if you can keep it in the fairway at this long decently challenging course, deal with trying play through walkers, and find a deal under 20 it's well worth it and you'll have a good time.
Great course for pruce
Course is always in great shape. They had just punched front nine greens but back nine was firm and fast.
June 23
Found out when we showed up the the front nine was closed and we had to play back nine twice
Condition is good except the rough off the fairway
The weeds off the fairway in some holes need to be mowed. Too long that you could not find the balls, even just slightly off the fairway. But, overall, course is in very good condition if not excellent.
Good Challenge
Beautiful fairways with challenging slopes. greens were punched not long ago but are recovering nicely .
Great course
Great bang for your buck. Great greens and simple course to play
Loved it!
Very forgiving, five different tee boxes. A great day.
Thank you to the staff
I wanted to demo a driver and the staff was very helpful setting that up for me. Also, forgot my sunglasses in the Pro Shop before my round and they offered to drive them out to me on the course when I called the Pro Shop to notify them.
Great value for the money
Weather was perfect, rate was great, and overall the conditions were very good. The greens were a little slow but for the most part, the course was in good condition. It was a little crowded when checking in, but still managed to tee off on time. We finished the round with foursomes all around us in 4 1/4 hours. Cart service was okay but could be improved. The 19th hole was excellent. Great value overall at $26 on a Sunday afternoon.
Slow Play
I've played this course a number of times and everytime I play it on the weekends it's over booked. It took us 3 hours to play the front 9... unfreakin' believable! Course is always in pretty good condition and the greens are always fast and tricky. Avoid it on the weekends unless you have the patience of a rock!
Seminole Course is always in fantastic condition! I always enjoy myself here
Course looks great for a course in the winter. Greens are pretty good looking and fairways look as good as they can being winter golf. Tee boxes had plenty of divots but are being kept in fairly good condition.
If you have never played here make sure you give it a shot! I love playing here!
FSU Seminole Golf
Winter golf is here, greens smooth and rolling fairly quick. Course is in pretty good shape, fairway lies a little tight. Overall a good place to play
Great round
Greens are in incredible condition. They play fast but the ball rolls true. Tee boxes were also in great shape. Fairways are telling sign of the time of year, but is overall in good condition. Rate of play is very good and I find it very relaxing knowing that no one is breathing down my neck. The practice facilities are top notch, and the staff is very friendly. The deals for this golf course on Golf Now are extremely low, realitive to other courses of roughly the same overall quality
Great Course
Very open course with a great design to give you multiple types of looks on whole. Good practice facility aside from hitting off mats at the range. Course was in great shape, greens were faster than normal and provide a good challenge.
Great course with fast greens
We played in perfect conditions and no one in front or pushing us behind. The greens are slick, like putting on Lino. The course was playing great even though the conditions in Tallahassee are dry at the moment. I congratulate the staff on the course condition
fast greens great price
The FSU course has very fast, very true, very subtle greens. The five sets of tees can challenge anyone but a pro. The fairways are pretty open.
The price for membership is rock bottom.
Seminole
Pro shop not friendly
Course ihas a very nice layout but at some point you have to put some money into the course to keep it up and to improve it
Best conditioned course in town
I play here regularly, as I work five minutes from the course. It's a running competition between Seminole and Southwood as to who has the best greens in town, and I think Seminole wins honestly. Fast and true. I love the practice facility here, and it is great for practicing your short game, which every golfer should spend more time on. The course itself has never looked better. I appreciate it more now actually after playing elsewhere. You go somewhere else and get upset when the greens aren't up to the level of Seminole. So go play somewhere else, and then come here, and you'll really appreciate a great golf course. They have some killer membership options too. $40 a month for all the range balls you can hit, and you can walk for free after 3:00 pm. SOLD!
Seminole
This place has been in phenomenal shape for the past two years. Always friendly staff makes for a great experience. I will have to say if you want to have a speedier round, play early in the morning before the college kids get out of class. Enjoy!
Nice Track To Play
I was in town visiting my daughters who go to college down there and decided to get a round in while they were in class. Found them online and after reading a couple reviews, decided to give them a look. The staff was very nice, the kid in outside service looked like a student, but was really nice and informative. The Asian kid in the shop was also very nice, a little shy, but got me in as a walk on and sent me on my way. The starter was funny, I forgot my slip and he went to make sure (in a nice way) that I actually paid and wasn't trying to get free golf. He kind of looked like "Really??" as I stepped to the tips to play, but after I blasted my tee shot about 250 he kind of nodded and I was off to play. The course was in good shape, the greens were a little slower then I like them, (I like a 12 or higher, but I get it, you could have a really long round on a public course with those greens!) but they ran true. The course itself was nice, nothing spectacular, but a nice track. Open, so you should not lose a ball. The pace was excellent, I walked and didn't have any problems (outside of my shape which I am clearly out of!) When I was done, the starter was like "We thought you got lost" ( I played in about 3:50, which I thought was good, especially with me being out of shape and walking) and then he remarked about how he had never saw me before. Told me it was nice having me and to come back again. And when I come back to see my daughters, I will. Enjoyable experience.
