Tee shot on #8 par 3 Photo submitted by tmlo on 05/05/2013
Not back in the top 100 public courses yet.
Used to be the place to play back in the day. Some tee boxes and spots on the fairways need work, all sand. Greens had a lot of weedy spots and were slow. Great layout, but the awesome new clubhouse doesn't make up for simple fixes needed on the course. Bring halfway back to what it was and you'll have something again.
Colony West Champs course
greens were very dry and unstable, rough was horribly high
Still needs some work
They have improved the course quite a bit, but it still needs some work. There are still lots of dead patches on some of the fairways. The green on 2 looked like it had been aerated, but the plugs never grew back in.
greens were in good shape
started a little late due to rain, course is always in good condition, some tee boxes need work. love layout of course, and staff always very friendly and helpful.
Lost appeal
Play several times years ago or condition now of let it go down. It’s just too bad because it was a really nice golf course.
Nice round of Golf
For my Birthday, my friend and I enjoyed a nice round of Golf at the Colony West Champs course.
Summer Anarchy
Decent course, not gonna complain about anything on the grounds for the price I paid. Greens still recovering from being punched, but still rolled decently.
However, there’s no rangers and no rules during the summer. We had 5 different singles zooming around the course, playing holes backwards, and doing whatever the f they wanted. One guy parked right on the forward tees while we were teeing off on the 1st hole (starter did nothing) He also cut across our fairway multiple times, one time within 20 feet in front of the other guy I was playing with while he was hitting. Total moron. We kept up with the group in front of us the whole time. We complained about the guy when we finished and the starter knew him by his first name, so that suggests that the regulars here are real pieces of work and they just do wtf they want.
No rules, no courtesy. #shrinkthegame
Looking pretty good!
I used to be a weekly player for years but it was going downhill for a while. I gave it a try after almost 2 years and I was pleasantly surprised. The terrible fairways were green again and the greens and bunkers were pretty decent. The only downside is the lack of a driving range and no cart girl except occasionally on the weekends.
course
the grounds were aeration 2 weeks ago and it rain foe a week after an the greens were still bumpy holes had not filled in
Course conditions
The greens were in poor condition, a lot of weeds.
Slow play
It takes 5 hours to play and no marshal to help with pace of play. If you have all day and like to wait, this is your place.
Super slow
It takes 5 hours to play around you can’t get any type of rhythm or pace because all you do is wait.
