Poor management and pace
If you play here expect a 5.5 - 6.5 hour round of golf. Staff is old and crabby and they stack groups onto groups. Cheap play on a okay course but super slow
Decent place to play
Richmond Forest is typical of a Bruce Matthews design, with some water hazards and forested areas definitely coming into play to punish errant shots. We've had spotty showers in this area recently, but nothing in my neighborhood. The course must have caught a downpour or two, though, and was soggy with standing water in some spots. Maybe the rain prevented some of the course maintenance, as the greens were a big scruffy, and the fairways not mowed as you might have expected. There was a goodly amount of turf damage of the sort commonly seen by August in Michigan due to various turf diseases, more than in most courses I've played recently, but that was more of problem with course esthetics than with play. I was happy to try out a decent new course, but given the drive out to Richmond, I"m not sure I'd go back, as the place was not so special as to make the drive worthwhile on a regular basis.
This course has some interesting holes to play for all levels of golfers.
I would recommend this golf course to anyone. It is so green and lush. The holes have a mix of very challenging to truly fun and interesting.
Excited to return.
Nice course
Nice layout, good condition, greens smooth will play again
Short and sweet
The course is nice and kept in pretty good shape for the money. It s a fairly short and simple course so it moves pretty quick because it isn't that difficult. There are are a few holes which require a well calculated shot, but other than that it is fairly forgiving. Some greens are small, which add a little more difficulty. The grass is in good shape and the staff is cool. It's a nice, relaxing, confidence builder, which would be great for beginners as well. Overall, a nice place to play.
Good shape, messy tee boxes
Really fun time and where early and avoided any delays. Tee boxes where a mess with clippings, clean your boxes and you get 5 stars for the price
Very nice course with plenty of obstacles. Greens are tough but playable. Every day is nice when you are playing golf.
Too many leaves
The course was in good shape but there were leaves everywhere which is to be expected this time of the year but I lost a lot of golf balls because if you want in the rough their leaves
Rained the entire round
The course is a very good lay out, the problem was that I had bought the Golf-Now hot deal for this course and the golf course should have closed the course the day we played. But unfortunately they didn't and we had to play in miserable conditions. It rained the entire round and the course was completely saturated and in some places the course was completely under water and all the sand traps were flooded. To bad management didn't just give us a rain check.
Great course
Love the beverage cart. Don't let the site of water take you from your game. Play as if there is no water there
Richmond Forest
Great course nothing easy about this one. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The course is always in great shape. The pin placements where very strategically placed this week. I'll go back anytime!
So nothing has changed it’s
unfortunate they’ve no clue about proper etiquette
