Cypress at Woodmont Country Club

About
The Cypress Course at Woodmont Country Club in Tamarac is named after the mature trees that line the fairways and frame the views from the elevated tees. The course measures 7,043 yards and features undulating greens that are a challenge too with carefully shaped contours that are subtle but tricky. It is a golf course that requires not only distance, but also accuracy and a good course management.

Only 9 holes are open right now
For GolfNow users and for the general public, it needs to be noted that only nine holes are open at this time. This is not posted on GolfNow and the golf Shop staff did not mention this.
Cypress Back NIne Closed
I wish Golf Now would have let me know the back nine was closed. So I ended up playing Cypress front nine and then the Pines. The Pines is a normally a fun nine but not in the condition it is in now. The greens are nothing but sanded and painted dirt. the few patches of grass on the greens act as Plinko pegs to knock your putt offline. With all this said I was very unhappy and would not recommend this course at this time. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I love playing this course and look forward to coming back when the Cypress back nine is open again.
Only first 9 holes available
Unfortunately I was not informed that they are redoing the last 9 holes and we had to play the first 9 holes twice.
Shouldn't be open for 18 right now
Three 9-hole courses. One is closed for renovations, which is of course fine. First 9 we played was great, good condition. Back 9 greens were unfortunately all green divot sand. No warning about this, which could be a Golf Now issue and not the course, I'm not sure. Either way, not worth the price in its current condition. Maybe when they finish renovations on the other 9, it will be worth revisiting.
Great potential
The front 9 for cypress is in great condition. Tee boxes, fairways, and green. Once the back 9 is complete, those 18 holes will be amazing to play. Better driving rage would make this a 4.5 star course. I’d recommend if you’re okay with a crappy conditions back 9 as of now. Hopefully it is fully renovated by 2026.
9 Shocking Holes
The first 9 holes of the 27 hole layout were great…. Good condition fairways and greens….
With the second 9 closed for new greens and tees, we were moved to the 3rd nine to make up the 18….
What a disaster!!!
Absolutely shockingly poor condition. Tees and fairways were very ooor, but the back nine greens were disgraceful….
Obviously they have rarely been used….90% sand, hardly any grass, bumpy and impossible to putt on….
Don’t waste your money until they reopen the second 9 holes…
Disgraceful that the club take money from people for playing on this ‘course’…
Back 9 under renovation and you have the option to play the (Cypress) front 9 twice or play the Pines and Cypress. I would highly recommend playing the Cypress twice.
Should be a 9 hole course Now.
Ok definitely appreciate how the Front 9 of Cypress is in above average shape. Issue is that the other 9 holes are closed AND that the Pines greens are burnt and vastly different from Cypress. That wasn’t the case in January when both those sides were comparable.
Great Front nine
Cypress 1 was a pleasure to play, championship layout, Pines was in good shape other than the greens, with some work this could be a 5* facility
Cyprus, one was a great 9 holes. However, the pine's 9 holes was a disaster went in to talk to the prosha. Who could not be less accommodating. What a disaster, this person should not be dealing with customers.
Bad conditions
Back 9 were terribe greens overseed bunker with no maintenance pace was extremly slow

We are sorry to hear that the golf course wasn't in the condition you expected. As the signs around the clubhouse note we are closing the back 9 of the cypress course for renovations. Starting May 5th we will begin the work on the back 9 putting in brand new greens, tees and bunkers that will be back up and available in the fall. We appreciate your support and hope we will see you again once the work has been completed.
What Happened??
The Cypress had 9 greens that were redone in 2024. I waited a long time to play them as they routed players to 9 holes on their Pines course…Now the Cypress back nine greens and fairways have no grass on them and are bare. It wasn’t this way in January ‘25!
I ask “What Happened?”

Thank you for coming back out and playing with us. As you stated we renovated the front 9 of the cypress course last summer with new greens, tees and bunkers. We are now renovating the back 9 of the cypress course this summer so it will look just like the front 9. In the process of preparing for the renovations you have to kill the old grass before you begin the renovations as ot make sure that none of the old grass lives in the existing soil. For the remainder of the summer we will be having play on the cypress front 9 and pines. We expect the back 9 of the cypress to reopen in october.
