Crescent Oaks Country Club
About
Located just north of Tampa in Tarpon Springs, Crescent Oaks Country Club sprawls across rolling hills dotted with sparkling lakes. The narrow course has a traditional layout that was carefully carved from dense woodlands, making it a challenging test. The lakes as well as a meandering creek come into play throughout the golf course. There are also a few strategically placed bunkers along the greensides. The par-5 10th is one of the most memorable holes with an elevated green and a ridge cutting across the middle. Par is considered a good score on this tricky hole. The golf course finishes with a par-4 dogleg left that features water along the entire left side of the fairway. The green is also protected by sand on the right and water on the opposite side.

Great Value
In my mind, it is one of the best values in the area. Greens, fairways, tees and traps all in good condition. The back 9 is a great layout, with the 18th an absolute beast, especially into the wind. Front is shorter and still pretty good.
Staff was generally friendly. Would have been better if there was a cart girl or some water coolers, but no biggie.
I can't understand the ratings on this course.
Staff was super friendly but the course isn't in the shape I was expecting for $70.00 and the reviews it has. Almost every fairway is or has bunch of crab grass or no grass at all if you miss a fairway it will cost a stroke since the rough is super grabby and the ball is completely hidden. The bunkers were in bad shape too and the surroundings are also missing grass so unfortunately playing as it lies isn't an option. The greens are probably the best part of the course when it comes to conditions but they are so tiny that missing a shot by three or four yards means you will be chipping from the aforementioned killer rough.
Overall I wouldn't pay what I did for the conditions and for overall pace of play.
Overall the
Good Experience
Overall, the course is in good shape. The only exception, and it's very obvious, is the tee boxes, which are mostly uneven and shredded. The greens were true and pretty fast, pace was pretty good (Saturday), fairways nice, and the rough, penal, but fair.
If any course would benefit golfers by having the digital views, with distances to hazards, this is one of those.
I will come back, and can recommend.
Father son day
My son and I had a blast. First time playing there.
Everything wasperfect. We will be back.
Great course with hot conditions
The weather was quite hot so playing was harder as as expected. The layout was good and the greens were very fast. The fairway could use and extra mowing but was ok
Crescent Oaks August 20,2023
Friendly staff. Excellent pace of play. Tees, fairways and bunkers in need of regular and ongoing maintenance program. Greens had been punched and as expected slow, but putted well.
Pace of Play
Liked the layout
Fairways and greens were good out lining ares could use some TLC
The pace of play was nit the best 20 minutes behind tee times appeared as if there were some first time golfers playing and didn’t quite understand the game very well
There was a ranger after noon that helped pick up the pace but even with the slow play it was a good experience the staff was great and the pro shop was well stocked
With just a little more grounds maintenance this could be a top course in the area
Fairly nice, minor problems
Overall, the course was in pretty good shape. My only complaint be the greens were not holding any approach shots. A few fairways had some rough spots but nothing horrible. So my only suggestion to them would be maybe work on your greens soften them up a bit and it would be perfect.
Course needs work !
There are just so many areas of this golf course that need work. Tea boxes have been shrunken down as it seems to find one area that you can hit off of. The greens are in terrible shape, and roll as if they have not been cared for in quite some time. They could use a good rolling and putt very lumpy.
Too many singles
As a 2 ball we were keeping good time but kept having singles chasing us down. Why can't the proshop pair people up? Greens small. Tees in poor condition. Played better courses in better condition for the same money in the area.
Cresent Oaks Mid-April 2023
Greens had been recently fertilized and didn't really impact the putts. The greens were perfect! Many of the tee boxes needed some maintenance. The course overall gets a passing grade, though there are so many great places to play for a little more out-of-pocket.
Overall
Course in good shape , tee box’s in fair shape, have been move around Green s good shape
why are you worried about that? ask them to pair up with you then and be nice!
