Great Golf Experience

I have had the privilege of playing the Boston Golf Club at least a dozen times and each time is a uniquely pleasurable experience, regardless of my play. I have played courses around the world and am an unabashed admirer of The Boston Golf Club.

This spectacularly designed Gil Hanse course adheres to the beauty of the location with fun and challenging holes where you must think about course management and shot-making all the time. The professional pleasant Golf Staff and Caddies make your round even more enjoyable. At times I thought I was playing at a Scottish course and at times a classic New England course but always knew this course was singular in stature.

Additionally, the facilities are unique and top-rated. The Clubhouse, Golf Shop, and Cottages were designed and built by the top American furniture craftsman and the result is nothing like any other golf facility I have ever seen, this is American Art. And not so incidentally the food is excellent.

Play it if you can, you will not be disappointed!

Don’t say no to an offer to play

Easy to see why Boston GC is widely considered to be a US top 100 course. The layout is magnificent from the par 5 start to the par 3 finishing hole (cleverly set below an outdoor patio area for great viewing). This is an early Gil Hanse design and like the early efforts of most great architects, you can see the elements of genius with the occasional misstep. The par 3 fifth with a wide but shallow green set on top of a hillside of waste areas was my favorite hole. The fairways are usually generous, but still punish poor shots. Some of the fairway bunkering is quite unique. But the greens are the truly interesting/challenging/frustrating feature of the course. If you can espace this course with less than 3 three putts, you are truly a great putter. Some of them border on being over the top (the 12th in particular) but they certainly are not your average set of greens. This is a course I’d love to study for a couple days to understand his strategy and thinking.

If you get the chance, play it

As good as golf gets. Much different course architecture than I'm used to seeing, impeccably maintained, and amazing all the way around. Every hole is memorable

Amazing Course

This course is spectacular. Absolutely beautiful from the first tee to the 18th hole. Elevation changes, native fescues, fast greens, you couldn't play a better course. Can't wait to play it again, it's in my top 5 of all time.
