great course, friendly staff and excellent conditions
We arrived 1/2 hour early and the nice friendly staff let us on early even if we said we could wait until our actual tee time because we knew we were early. We got 2 sandwiches at the snack shop and BOY!!! was it good and it came with fast and friendly service....
The pace was excellent. The couple ahead of us played fast so we didn't wait long at all to tee off...The only problem was the 2 people behind of us was very rude and started hitting into us and we approached our ball to hit our 2nd shot!!! They did it on the first and second hole and I almost got hit by the female's ball. I looked at them and shook my head but they did it again. I went to the guy and said not to do that because it is dangerous and I almost got hit by one of the balls. I offered him to go ahead of us if he was in a rush but he said no. I also told him that if he does it again, I would call the Pro Shop. He complied.....
Anyways, The course is in excellent condition and fair....but some of the par 4's are a little short but don't be fooled by that because those short par 4's have greens that are tricky and challenging to make up for that..... In addition, The seventh hole is not well marked and confusing if your new to the course.
I would definitely go back to Quail Ridge again but my only concern is that on a Saturday "prime-time", the course was pretty empty and although I could play and practice with multiple balls and have the course to myself on the second round, I hope they can stay in business.... it would be sad to see it close due to lack of players...
**DO NOT PLAY - COURSE NOT 18 HOLES**
$80 for 18 holes and the “back 9” is just the same front 9 but from the blues instead of whites(there is no option). This should be illegal and is most definitely immoral to call it 18 holes. I would never recommend this to a friend and highly advise you stay away from this course. On top of this the course was terribly maintained and the layout had you hitting into people. 0 stars, never again, left after 9 holes.
Great staff, good course
Every time I play at Quail Ridge, the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. For that reason alone, I find myself playing here more and more often.
It is a fun nine hole course with the option to play slightly different tee boxes if you want to play 18. Course layout is interesting without being overly punishing.
Garbage
I wouldn’t go back to this dog track if the golf was free. If for premium greens fees (golf $58 + cart $21 = $78) you expect to not be subjected to someone mowing the teebox while you’re teeing off, then Quail ridge is not for you. For this among many reasons, do yourself a favor and avoid this god forsaken golf course.
Nice course
Beautiful course I am not. Very good golfer
We did the 9 hole course twice for 18
Beautiful course but to hard for beginner 4 holes first 130 yards where water or bushes
If good golfer go
Great 9 Hole
Love Quail Ridge. One of the better 9 holes you’ll play. Conditions are great, course is difficult and a higher slope than most other 9 holes and the staff is awesome. I could do without the soccer golf holes, but is what it is. Pickleball courts, pool, full locker room.
Best 9 hole course around, not even close
Real fun course. Narrow but not ridiculous. Id rather play an 18 hole course, but this is really the only 9 hole course that I wanted to play another 9 after. Its challenging, fun and in decent shape. And the varying tee boxes would make another go around very different 9 holes. Im honestly mad ive never played here before.
Mid Week Rain
It rained a little this week and that made Quail Ridge green, great and gorgeous. The fairways were much nicer than they were during the dry summer. The greens were smooth and rolled beautifully. I didn’t make any putts, but that’s my fault, the greens were awesome. Quail Ridge is always a pleasure to play and a challenge for anybody. I have played here almost every Sunday morning for the last two autumns. It’s one of the best 9 holes around, easy to get to and a course you need to play.
Next Sunday It Will Be Perfect
I play here almost every Sunday morning in the autumn months. Yesterday the fairways were much nicer than before. Cooler temperature and some natural rainfall brought the course much closer to peak condition. The greens had been aerated a few weeks ago and they had that final bumpiness. Next Sunday this course will be at its best. The fairways will have grown back from the dry summer heat and the greens will have been rolled and cut ending the aeration bumps. Looking forward to my Biblical tee time John 7:15, LOL! The course will be perfect!!!
My Sunday 9 Holes
When my grandchildren go back to school I can’t play 18 during the week anymore. Quail Ridge is the perfect go to place for me. It’s a gorgeous, truly testing 9 holer that was condensed from the former 18 hole private country club. It’s been an extremely dry summer and the greens had been aerated recently, so the course was not at its best this time. When Quail Ridge is Quail Ridge it’s one of best, nicest and challenging courses you can fine. I’ll be there every Sunday morning till the snow flies. You’re invited and you won’t be disappointed.
Not Really an 18 Hole Course
The course was overall in good condition but pace of play was definitely an issue. They also are only a 9-hole course, the "Back 9" is just the same holes as the front from different tees. I kind of felt deceived since it seemed there were 18 DIFFERENT holes. The pace of play was already an issue on the front but then a group jumped in front of me when I got to "Hole 10", because they were teeing off on Hole 1. This made the "Back 9" dreadfully slow.
