International Golf Club - Oaks Course
About
The International Golf Club boasts two championship courses, the Oaks and the Pines. Tom Fazio designed the Oaks Course, it was his first design in New England. Overlooking the lush Nashua River Valley, the course has a scenic and diverse landscape that Fazio fully utilized. The Oaks is routed alongside the Pines Course, which is known for being the longest course in the world. Fazio carefully molded the existing topography and also incorporated several waste bunkers for added challenge. Although it is considerably shorter than the club's original golf course, it is still a round that will formidably test your skills. The course finishes with a downhill par 5 that will test both your distance and accuracy with a tree-lined fairway and a green protected by bunkers, grass swales, and waste areas.

Nice course, free range balls, nice chipping area. Only complaint is $ 2.50 for a can of soda ! Banquet/ hotel prices. When you stray too far off, your golf cart shuts off and your told to return up path. A real pain ,, why don't they have signs not to enter certain areas? Had to literally push cart at one point!
Crazy Carts, Tough Fairways, Nice Greens
Playing at the International for the first time, i went with high expectation. The vast parking area was confusing to me; I followed the Bag Drop sign and ended up parking near the Oak Course starting hole, which was farthest away from the Pro Shop. After a quick check in, there was no clear indication of where to pick up a cart. We had to ask and the Pro Shop guy had to call to the bag shed for one. Then, we were told by the Starter that there was no particular cart rule that day except for one hole; and that the GPS-equipped carts will "stop you if you go where you are not supposed to"). Well, on about 6 holes, we were forbidden to go on to the fairway (the cart will slow to a crawl and the GPS screen would show "GO BACK ONTO CART PATH". Once, we drove back towards the tee and the cart took over and the only way to move was to drive in reverse all the way to the cart path. (We didn't know how to initially, the group behind us had to scream out the instruction to us). Now how difficult would it be for the staff to warn us about that beforehand? As one of the most expansive daily fees in MA ($125), one would expect more front-end service. The course was in great shape though. While the greens can be tricky, they were relatively slow and receptive even though it had been hot. We liked how the fringes were wide and very putt-able so that even if one landed short of the green, one could often putt from the fringe from. I practiced on the putting green and the speed seemed to be very consistent for all greens on course. The pace was okay for the most part but lost balls (and there can be many) can slow things down suddenly, as we found out at one stretch of 2 holes, when two twosomes in front of us bunched up. But the congestion quickly cleared up. But i wonder what would happen on a busy day. We played Twilight (3pm start) the day before Summer Solstice and we managed to get 18-holes in with daylight to spare. The Twilight rate is definitely worth it ($80); but the level of service needs to be improved to make it worth the regular rate. And, please, do something about those Crazy Carts (or reprogram them).
Great course for the golf now price
I was very excited to play the oaks course at the international. Overall it was a great course but i thought the greens were a little beat up. The practice facility and club house were top notch. The tee boxes and fairways were excellent. Overall I would play this course again if it was for the golf now price of $55.
International- the best in NE
Play and you will feel the overwhelming and enjoy no matter what you score.
Typically green is very fast but this time quite slow which was a little disappointing. Probably due to several days' continuous raining.

Tour quality for hack prices
The International Oaks is an extremely well manicured course with attention to detail at every hole and the course layout is interesting and complexed.
Excellent
The staff was very friendly and the course challenging, yet well laid out. I hope to play there again.
SUPER LONG
Bring your driver and be prepared to use it on all holes except for par 3's. LONG holes. Tight fairways but straight enough. Lovely course overall. Be prepared to have your game tested.
Fall golf at its finest
Lovely day in early November with mid-summer conditions. Lush tee boxes, fairways and fast greens. Sand a little firm but I don't go there. Very private feel, routed through beautiful wooded hills.
A Total No Brainer
I had been pondering playing at International for the normal guest rate of $129. for a few weeks. When the email announcement came out that for the month of November the rate would be $50. on Wednesdays through Sundays, how could I not play it. That's $50. for 18 holes on The Oaks course, cart and range balls. There is no better golf value in New England at this time. The course is in mid-season, member standards, condition. The greens are totally recovered from the fall aeration and are putting great. There are no temp tees or greens. The bunkers are raked and rock-free, and the leaves are being corralled. It is all the real course and its real good. Now I know its late in the season and the weather makes all the difference in November, but this is a total no brainer that you just cannot pass up. We did get lucky on Wednesday as it was 60 degrees and sunny. There was no frost delay so we were right on time. The wind was strong, but not unbearable. I would recommend jumping on this deal. The good folks at International may not be crazy enough to ever do this again. Thanks IGC!
Course was well very maintained for fall golf.
Played here a few times already and have never been disappointed with the course conditions and pace of play. Tee time was in the afternoon.
I would have to say this is the best public course in New England
Standing on first tee box looking down this very well maintained fairway ,makes you feel privileged .Seeing distant mountain views lifts ones spirits, possibly the game level, cant wait to come back to play this course, hopefully using another Hot Deal from Golf Now.com,thanks
Great features
Nice course. Fast greens with undulations. Good pace of play. Lots of bunkers but no water.
Well worth the trip from Boston
I played the Pines last October, and I finally got out to play the Oaks yesterday. Beautiful course, I actually like the Oaks more even though most seem to prefer the Pines. The course was in wonderful shape, and the foliage was tremendous.
It's not as memorable as Crumpin Fox, The Ranch, or Red Tail, but, to be fair, those are my favorite 3 public courses in MA. It was certainly worth the GolfNow rate of $50, but I'd never consider paying the full $129. For me, no course is worth over $100 to play.
I had read previous reviews that mentioned the pace of play, and was concerned about not getting 18 in before sunset. This was not an issue at all.
The only thing that I thought strange was, after checking in, I asked if I could take one of the 2 carts that was parked in front of the clubhouse. I was then told to go get a cart from the "Oaks parking lot". That was weird, all the carts should be parked in the area just outside the clubhouse. After looking around for a few minutes, I found what looked like an abandoned cart in the parking lot.
Fall golf. Awesome deal based on the hot deal I used
Played the course in late fall afternoon. The course is in awesome condition. A couple of the greens had not been cleared of debris which is expected at this time of the year. Based on what I paid (under $60), this was an awesome deal. Not sure if I would say the same thing if I paid the full price of $129.
I would like to comeback to the course during the summer peak season.
Great Course
I play at The International 2 or 3 times a year, it's outstanding. Great conditions and spectacular holes. At full price it's expensive but with the discounts, sometimes found on Golfnow. it's a good value.
Standard of Excellence
The International has it all for the golf nut. Great practice facility, good food, outstanding course conditions and great views. This course has a private country club feel and conditions. From tee box to green you will be impressed. This course is challenging but fair. The greens are very fast, don't be above the hole. If you have the opportunity to play this course do not hesitate. This course has it all.
Every hole had it's own character...that's the way to enjoy golf!
Awesome Tom Fazio design...Go to Tree Tops in Gaylord,MI for more of the same challenging characters, if you dare!
This should be on most better players must play list.
I don't know why it took me so long to finally get out and play the International, but am I glad I finally did. From the championship tees the course was an excellent challenge and was in outstanding shape. The greens rolled fast and true, some of the pin positions were very challenging and may have proved frustrating for the beginner. For those looking for tournament conditions, this is your test. Great visual interest holds your eye from tee to green, although it may appear tight there is more room than it appears and is a very fair test of golf. On par with TPC Boston, and better than other high end courses in state and out. Play this gem it's worth the trip.
Pristine
Pristine private CC with amazing views and elavation changes.
Putting in small yardage markers in middle of fairway at 100 yr and 150 yrs would help greatly and speed up play.
Great design and well maintained.
The course is an excellent Fazio design, utilizing the landscape well, providing a great variety of holes. The conditions are excellent and staff make you feel welcome.
