Would Never Recommend This Course
I play golf all over the South Shore, and this was far an away the worst course/time I had golfing all year. First off, the entire course was soaked. Hit your ball in the fairway and find that your playing in mush. Course was in very rough shape.
The pace of play was terrible. Took us almost 6 hours to play a round. One of the workers on the course asked us about our experience. We let him know, didn't seek him out at all, and he was very helpful then he had a head ranger come over to us who was a complete jerk! Terrible customer service telling us that this wasn't an issue for us.
I will NEVER go back to River Bend, and I will let everyone I know to not waste your money playing there. Terrible experience that I have never had anywhere else playing golf. I've played in other courses in the Bridgewater area, and I never had any issues.
This is total feeling that myself and everyone else in my foursome had. I would never recommend River Bend to anyone.
Fun challenging course
Great course for all skill levels! Just play the right tees for you and don't let your ego get ahead of itself or this course will eat you alive lol
Course in great shape. Greens a little fast but true.
November 9 hole round on Veterans Day
Course was in great shape, smooth fast greens, most leaves blown away
Hidden gem!
Played on a fairly quiet Sunday morning. I didn't even have to enter the clubhouse to check in because the starter caught me on the way inside, asked for my name, and said that I was good to go.
The area had received rain the day before, but you could barely tell. The conditions were some of the best I've experienced in both MA and NH. Greens were SUPER fast and rolling pure. Most of the tee boxes, minus the par threes, looked untouched.
The format of the course was truly unique. The front nine was wide open and reminded me of many of the resort courses that I've played in FL. The back nine reminded me of the woodland courses in GA that I am used to playing. The layout was very friendly for a golfer of my caliber. Although, I would like to see combo tees between the blues and whites (~6,000 yds), as I had to play the whites measuring <5,800 yds due to the blues being too long (>6,300).
I wish it was located closer to me so I could play it more regularly. Thanks for a great outing!
Great greens
The course is in great shape. Some wet spots on the edges from all the rain but tees and greens perfect as well as fairways.
Would play again
Course has a nice layout, not much tree worries. Second part of the front 9 has kind of a links feel. Only complaint was the ground looked firm but definitely was softer than expected in some places. Greens rolled real quick and were a little chewed up in some spots but that happens on a busy course.
Playing in the rain
Lost a couple of balls in the back on the fairways because of puddles and the ground being so soft . I think the ground just ate them
Great course
I had driven by this course but never realized how nice it was--a bit of a hidden gem. The front nine was short, links style and the back was a traditional long course. Really nice. It was super marshy because of all the weather, but the staff was doing everything they could to dry it. Greens were in great condition and super fast. Very walkable, maybe a bit better markers needed on the next hole location for new players. Will definitely go back.
great condition
place is great. great value.. front is wide open n back is tucked into the woods.
Good day for me
I have to start by saying I played my best round on this day, However the woman in the pro shop was not helpful when I explained to her the I modified my number of players earlier in the week (well within the timeframe) to cancel/modify considering that I am a GolfPass member. otherwise the course was in good shape but the play was extremely slow.
Lyman
Always enjoy seeing Lyman. Great guys, always professional
Great course
Always a great time there. It’s kept up very nicely and always plays so well
Dear u199871831,
I sincerely apologize for your bad experience. It should not have been that way, but there is an answer as to why it was:
We had a horrific summer last year. Our superintendent (and his crew) let the place go to shambles, on top of the irrigation breakages. It went down the tubes for the rest of the season, and it is my fault for not seeing the issue sooner.
Since then, ma'am or sir, we have gone under new maintenance. Headed by David Porter, the superintendent, our maintenance crew has done wonders for the course. Currently, our greens are the best in the region (as many patrons now, thankfully, rant). We are still working on our irrigation issue, so our fairways could be a little better, as could our tee boxes. But believe me, we are in the ultimate and right direction.
Again, I apologize for not communicating this to all of our patrons sooner. My son, Jared, is currently working hard to spread the message that our course was hit hard, but is better than before!
As for play, we have improved our ranger staff and clubhouse staff. Please mention any issue to the clubhouse immediately upon being offended. Thank you.
To make amends, I insist that you come back to play another round. If you wish, my son Jared would love to take you and a couple of other gentlemen for a free round--courtesy of the clubhouse.
Please contact me, Gerry, at riverbend250@gmail.com , or call at 508-580-3673.
I value your experience, and your business. Please, I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Stay swinging,
