Greens
Greens we’re unreasonably fast. To hit a normal put and have it o 6 to 8 feet passed the hole regularly is unreasonable.
Course is average.
Course is tough due to hazards on many holes. Greens were generally good but some needed repair. Layout was good.
Mixed condtions
The course layout was interesting and the greens were pretty good. The rest of the course was pretty sad. This course has been let go and needs some serious work.
Horrible condition
Wouldn’t recommend going here. Everything about the course is in rough shape. The best deal is the 6 pack of beer.
Improving
Fairways were good, greens had recently been plugged but were playable, traps were fair. A few of the greens are experiencing weed issues, but it is evident that money is being spent for welcome improvements.
Terrible condition!
When we got to the course the starter denanded to look in my wifes cooler bag and told us we could not have any sodas only water even though they have no on course beverages and it was nearly 90 degrees. After we got done with Mr Happy we started our round; fairways had weeds 3-4 inches high and the rough was all weeds that hadnt been mowed recently. The greens were aerificated 2 days prior but nobody in clubhouse was telling any players that fact; it was suprise when we got to the first green and there were large unsanded holes, which was the case as we went on to the next hole. Decided to call golf now for refund and went to play a real golf course. We have played Sherwood many times and travel about 45 min to get there as its less crowded and less expensive than other courses in the area, but the course is now in such bad shape thats its no longer worth saving a few bucks and you are better off going someplace that is maintained. If they worried about the course as much as the beverage sales it would be a nice place again.
Getting better all the time
This has always been one of my favorites and I've played it through thick and thin. The new ownership is showing a positive result. Fair rating for off-course amenities is only because the restaurant is closed, but reopening is in the plan. Stay tuned...
Keep up the good work!
My first time back to Sherwood in a few years. I will definitely be back. loved the course. played alone, but 4somes I encountered let me play thru. was back home in 4 hours. greens were nice, fairways ok. price great.
First time to play this course in about 5 years. will
definitely be back. great value. and course is in decent shape. the greens are mostly very nice. I like the layout of this course.
Constant improvement is evident!
I've played Sherwood many times over the past 3-4 years and have always been happy, but under the new recent ownership the conditions are fabulous! If you have come away less than happy after playing in the past few years you really owe Sherwood another chance!
Quick and easy
We were in Cocoa Beach and drove to course in Titusville. We were a little early but teed off right away... a three hour round for my wife and I. I would give course a 7/10 overall... For the price it was a 10/10... cheap and cheerful.. a great day
Improvements Warrant More Frequent Visits
Although there were quite a few bare spots and the fairways hard in numerous spots,Sherwood continues to show improvement every time I get the chance to play there. Price is usually a bargain and the course has some interesting holes that keep your interest and demand your attention. I recommend it for the average golfer who isn't looking for plush conditions but can play a challenging course (on some holes) without busting your wallet. Friendly staff and good pace of play are what you'll find, and for the price, what more can you ask?
Getting better every time
A few years ago you could't pay me to go back to this course. A few months ago the reviews encouraged me to give it another try and it was pretty good. Last week a Hot Deal was too good to pass up so , without hesitation, I took in another round. Friendly staff and got right out despite a full booking. Group in front were beginners who came up to me right after they teed off and told me that I could pass them right after the 1st hole. More players should have this golf etiquette! The only negative is the fairways had a lot of bare spots and were starving for water. Ground was hard in spots. I always liked the layout with the back 9 shorter but much tougher. The greens were GREAT!!! They were fast but true once you get use to them. Usually Sherwood is a great deal so I'm sure I'll make the trek again this summer for another reasonable & challenging round. Good job
Sherwood
Place gets better n better every time I play there! Greens are looking good n fast! Look forward to what new ownership brings
Good but Could be Better
Maintenance is OK. Course is demanding due to hazards lining many fairways. Greens were generally fine, although some needed work. Layout has many good variables in distance, line of play, etc.
