Unplayable

This course shouldn’t be open. Every single shot your ball is plugged. My back garden was in better condition than this course. Greens terrible tractor tracks everywhere bunkers full of stones.

Rathbane

Located close to the city with east access and good parking. Easy to book with plenty of times available on weekends. Suitable for all level of players. Played during winter, obviously more difficult to maintain the course, but fairways very overgrown and some areas of poor drainage leading to small areas of flooding. Overall a good course and would go again.

course in terrible condition

the course was wrecked from golf buggies and lawnmowers. atrocious conditions. lawnmower also drove over my ball during play just off the green, incredibly annoying.

Not what I paid for bad staff

Booked on golf now for a hot deal of 23.99 then went to the golf course checked in with the club house member of staff told me I had to pay I advised her I book on golf now she said we have issues with them at to moment had to check my bank only charged €2 then when to pay they charged me a full green fee of 30 when I asked the member of staff why didn’t I get the rate the was shown to me on golf now she said that not an issue with us you would have to talk it up with golf now .I feel this is a way of getting people to the course so they can charge more and get away with it and blame golf now that’s it’s an issue with there side I don’t think anyone should go to this course cas they will doing this

Great Course

A course you know exactly what you are getting for an affordable price. Staff are friendly and course is kept very well. Greens are a little slow and bunkers are unplayable but that is down to the time of year. Overall great course and worth the fee.

Great value!

Great value in a course. Fairways & greens in very good condition. Easier course but trees & well placed bunkers can add a bit of difficulty.

Excellent value for money

As public courses go Rathbane is very good. Obviously with time if year it was very wet but the greens were in very decent condition. Will come back and play in spring/summer

Needs improvement

Firstly I will say that the course has improved since I last played it 4 years ago - back then you could pick from multiple different holes on the greens to sink your putt in!!
There is still a lot of improvements to be made with some being simple maintenance - for example the area where the air hoses for cleaning carts etc. and also where a trolley can be rented was covered in old grass which clearly hadn’t been removed in a long time - we teed off at 8am so it wasn’t grass from previous tee times.
A lot of the tee boxes were bare/scorched looking and the most of the winter tee mats had overgrown weeds growing alongside them - didn’t affect main tee-boxes but were ugly to look at.
On top of this we had to pay a higher green-fee than was advertised and booked - not a lot more to be fair at an extra €5 per golfer but enough to put us off going back again given the other improvements that need to be made.
Overall not the worst experience ever but far from the best!
