Deerfield Golf & Tennis Club
About
Deerfield Golf Club in Newark, Del., is a 145-acre public course, billed as a “natural treasure.” The 18-hole championship course gets the moniker thanks to its surroundings -- the ancient forest of White Clay Creek State Park. The 145-acre play, acquired by the state of Delaware in 2005, is a par-70, 6,323-yard golf course that features rolling terrain, smooth bent grass putting surfaces and scenic vistas. The mix of memorable, distinctive holes adds to the difficulty, as does the memorable, heavily wooded setting and dramatic elevation changes. Before or after your round at Deerfield Golf Club, enjoy the large putting green, full-service practice range, or lighted tennis and paddleball courts.

Awesome
First time playing this course great layout ,rolling hills and elevation changes make this a challenging course to play.Easily one of the best courses we played all year, nice country club feel…can’t wait ti play again!
Early leaves
The course is in fabulous shape and folks are doing a great job with ball marks in the greens. The issue is there are a lot of blind shots which leads to lost balls in and about the fairways. Granted I wasn’t in the woods or close to them but on the first hole ball just plain gone somewhere under a lot of leaves in front of the green. The issue is they should have a least mulched the leaves since they aren’t everywhere. If not then give out 2 sleeves of balls to make up for fairway balls lost due to poor planning on the courses duties.
I really enjoy this course but won’t return for 6 weeks in hopes the leaves are done.
Great course at a great price
Deerfield is a great golf course. No super long but the elevation changes make the course challenging. I highly recommend that you give this place a try
Great layout and design! Rolling hills for days!
Challenging overall for the beginner type golfer but fun layouts and blind holes that make it super interesting to play. Good representation of this area’s golf!
Lots of leaves!
Hey, it's November, so the leaves on the course and debris on the greens was to be expected. Challenging course in very good shape.
Aerated greens but...
they were sanded very nicely and there was little if any effect on play.
