Beautiful course along the James River
Played Friday with a great price from Golf Now, staff very nice and course even nicer. Wide open fairways, only negative is the amount of cart path only holes that were mostly par 5, slowed down play and to be honest couldn't really figure out why cart path since it hadn't rained and they weren't under construction
If you have the chance to play this golf course I assure you will enjoy every hole. Well maintained and a great value.
I have played courses that cost a lot more and in no were close to the shape this one is in. A fantastic lay out and a challenge for any level player. A must if you have the chance to play Riverfront Golf Club!
It is neat how this community is all built together yet set apart. Neat design.
I would not play this course if I did not have GolfNow. I really enjoyed the challenge. Several of the holes really looked longer than they actually played. You must trust your swing and your yardage. It was very hot when we played but I would love to go back and play again.
Great Views
The course was damp. It was cart path only after a night of rain. The course was in great shape. I definitely enjoyed myself. Members are also friendly. I would definitely go back again and play another round.
Still a great course
I was the 6th member of Riverfront when they first opened but have since moved from the area. It was a great pleasure to play it again. It is a great course for all levels of golfers. Although this round was marred by down pours of rain, I still enjoyed the course and the company.
Excellent course, friendly staff
The fairways and greens were in fine condition. the course is a good test from the white tees.
Out of towner.
Got the tee time on a hot deal, wonderful course. Extremely nice staff and beautiful views.
Tough when windy
Beautiful layout w/several forced carries for your approach shot. Better to consider laying up or hitting to a safe bailout area during windy conditions. The course is absolutely in beautiful condition w/reasonably fast green speeds. The staff is professional and go out of their way to make your foursome feel welcome. A great overall golfing day and will gladly return on my next trip to VA.
Challenging, well designed, and good value for seniors.
I play this course frequently. It's one of my favorites in the Tidewater area. All 18 holes are unique. Definitely not a boring course. Comparable courses (in the Williamsburg area), are considerably more expensive. It gets crowded on weekends.
Excellent course.
I played on June 12, 2013 at 1230. The weather was around 90 degrees which may have had something to do with how uncrowded it was. We flew around in a little under 3 and one-half hours. We never came upon another group and never saw anyone behind us. The course was in excellent condition. The fairways were lush and green and your ball had nearly a perfect lie every time. The greens were very smooth and the ball rolled true. For a hot price of just $25, it was a steal. I highly recommend River Front. Even at twice the price it is worth playing there. GO PLAY!
well maintained course and nice practice area.
Pace of play was a little slow but the course was nice. I thought the green fees were a little high for this area.
challenging greens
The course is in great shape and you can tell the workers truly care about how the course looks. Some of the holes were fairly challenging but if you got a good tee shot then you could really set yourself up for success on the approach. The greens were fast and difficult to read at times; so for how I play, putting from off the green typically worked better than chipping and trying to get the ball to stop.
Enjoy
Challenging course and great playing condition.
Course had an outing on the day we played, slowing the pace a bit. Fairways and greens were the best I have seen in a while and the course as a whole is in great shape.
No wind its easy
The course gets much more challenging when the wind kicks up. I was not impressed with the lack of courtesy from the regulars that did not want to allow some faster players through, but overall the course plays very nicely, has amazing views, as well as some great holes.
. Excellent condition the best I have seen this spring.
Riverfront is in excellent condition. The fairways are green and smooth. The tee boxes feel like your are walking on plush carpet and the greens are in excellent shape and providing much drama.
Great scenic course
Riverfront had amazing scenic holes along the Nansemond River and marsh lands. Great challenge for all handicaps. Definitely playing there again very soon!!!!
Challenging course with well maintained fairways and greens
Enjoyed this course, fairways, tee boxes and greens were in great condition. Staff was freindly. Played during the week early in AM and were not rushed at all. Very comfortable pace. Would have been playing forward but our two playing pardners who were the ones who knew the course were playing from whites. Some houses but the course plays away from them. Very scenic. Course offers some good challenges. A couple par threes with forced carries over waste areas/marsh were particularily memorable. I've put this course on my list as a "must" to play again next time I'm in area.
great time just slow
Great golf course but pace of play was way to slow almost 6 hours before getting off the course
Course is always in great shape
The starters are always friendly and the beverage girls are there when you need them (also nice to look at). The long play was due to a tournament going off at the same time others were booked for play.
Great Course
The golf course is very forgiving and considering the time of year and the weather we've had the greens and tee boxes were in great shape. Overall I enjoyed my round.
