Bowes Creek Country Club
About
Bowes Creek Country Club is situated on the western edge of Elgin amidst gently rolling hills. The golf course enjoys an idyllic setting, sprawling across lush farmland accented with stands of mature trees, natural wetlands, and rocky bluffs. The layout incorporates the natural hazards provided by the terrain but massive, sweeping bunkers were also strategically placed throughout for added challenge. Tall fescue grasses edge the face of the bunkers as well and the undulating terrain guarantees that you will come across a few uneven lies. The trickier elements of the golf course are balanced by expansive, player-friendly fairways that offer a little room for error. In addition to the golf course, Bowes Creek C.C. also boasts a comprehensive practice area with an elevated, 30-station driving range with target greens at varying distances, and putting and chipping greens.

Beautiful Course
Great course, nice layout, well maintained. challenging, but very rewarding experience.
Very Challenging
My friend and I played here for the first time. I am a long ball hitter so I played from the blue tees he played from the white. We both ended up playing from blues due to the layout of the course. I found it was better to hit back to keep from going into the hazards.
Great shape
It was cart path only due to standing water but greens in great shape from maintenance perspective - best I’ve seen so far in 2018. Layout was good as usual and rough was like my feint lawn, thick and to be avoided. Best part of this course are the greens which are fast and true. Will return shortly.
She's a beaut!
Been told by a few folks to play this course and boy did it not disappoint! Even though it was very soggy from a bunch of rain, the course drains very well and it was still very playable. What a gorgeous layout, too! Errant shots will easily find some nasty rough, so this play separates from the men from the boys (or ladies from the gals). You owe it to yourself to play this course.
Bowes Creek
One of the best golf courses in the Western Suburbs.
Fescue around bunkers is ridiculous
I really like this course but I would probably never play here again because of the ridiculously long fescue grass that surrounds most of the bunkers. I hit three slightly off line shots that resulted in unplayable lies in the fescue grass surrounding the bunkers. Almost broke my wrist on two of them. Last one I learned my lesson and took a penalty and drop. You will probably never roll a ball into a bunker at Bowes Creek. I can see how this might make the course more difficult for a 2 handicap. But, most of your golfers are probably 12 handicaps and up. Let them take their medicine in the sand. Other than that, they have a nice bar and the people are really friendly.
Great course, bad timing
this course is generally an outstanding course. It was in great condition and the day we played the weather was perfect. The thing we did NOT know when we booked our round was that we would be immediately following an amateur tournament of over 100 players. They alerted us when we teed off that play was behind schedule and there were some bottlenecks on the course. By the time we teed off on the par 3 5th hole, there were 4 groups on that hole (1 on the green, 1 on the tee and 2 waiting behind us). Our round played out at 5 hours and 45 mins. The starter did give us the option, at the turn, to play the front nine again as it would be speedier, but we were excited to play the back---even knowing how slow it would be.
Great course
Really good conditions considering how or weather has been this year. Really awesome that driving range is included with round!!
Great Course
Bowes Creek is one of the best courses in the Kane County area. The holes all have a different look. Id recommend it to any golfer that likes a challenge

Always a great place to play
Golfing near the end of Nov is always a plus in the midwest. The course was in great shape. Greens where a little shaggy compared to the rest of the season but rolled good.
Foxford Hills
