Prairie Falls Golf Club
About
Prairie Falls Golf Club opened as a nine-hole course in 1999 and the second nine was added in 2000. Though each nine has a unique character, they combine seamlessly to create a fair test. It's an ideal course for high handicappers learning the game but it's not an easy course by any means. The front nine is a player friendly parkland layout with wide and forgiving fairways. You won't be penalized if you're slightly errant. You'll have the opportunity to build up your score on the front nine, putting you in a good position for facing the tougher back nine where there is less room for error. Prairie Falls Golf Club'a back has a links-style design with narrow fairways and tricky greens with subtle breaks. It's a challenging but fair course and if played smartly there are some birdie opportunities available.

Not worth the cost.
First off if you find a really good deal with the golfnow app the course might not honor the price. This happened to me Oct 1st 2016. Found a great deal booked it then got a call in the morning stating the golf course made a mistake on the listing and wouldnt honor the price. So when i called the golf course they were extremely rude and just didnt care.
On another point unless you find a really good deal the course isnt worth the money. They want top dollar for a $10 course. You're better off going to the Highlands great place and a good price. Plus its a fun course.
New Owners Great Course Condition
We have been playing this course since it opened. The new owner has improved conditions enormously and it is a lovely kept course now. The staff is friendly and helpful. We like that they have added draft beer. Considering buying a pass again!
Would be a fun ,challenging course if not for the pace of play.
Greens recently aerated and sanded, which wasn't a problem as we knew in advance. Biggest problem was the pace of play, no Marshall on course. Stacked up 3 deep on some of the tee boxes. the 2 groups in front of us were playing as a 8 some. All would tee off from the TIPS, then the 1st 3 would play their 2nd shots, and continue to the green. Next 2 groups would then play to the green , then all 3 groups would putt out and tee off as a group again. They wouldn't let the 2 some right in front of us play through even. Won't be golfing there again when there are so many other great courses in the area.
Great morning
We played early on a Friday, the course was in great shape, there was no waiting and the young man who checked us in was super friendly.
2 completely different 9 holes
Great course for the money. Two completely different 9 holes holes from the front to the back.
Waiting game!
The waiting time on the course was terrible the day we played. We had an 11:06 tee time for two players. On the second hole we were already waiting 5-8 minutes per hole with three foursomes in front of us. On the 10th hole we thought it may get better if some ahead of us were only playing 9. We ended up going around a slow foursome at hole 11 and played on from there with only a group of two walkers in front of us who were playing at a normal pace. It took us three hours to play the first nine and an hour to play the second 9. The course needs to manage letting people out at their tee times better. We were told to "just go out when you are ready". There was a marshall that we saw as we were heading out to the driving range but never saw him on the course at all.
Very well maintained course
I was very impressed with the quality of care for the course. The greens were immaculate and the layout was very challenging with the late afternoon winds and blinding sun coming in. Overall a great round!
Fun time
I thought the front 9 was easier than the back 9. The drainage was very good for the amount of rain earlier in the morning, and greens were consistent. The back 9 has a few holes where you can't see the ball land, and hole 16 can be a tough Par 4. Staff was great, and will play again later this year.
Short but challenging
While this course is relatively short in yardage, the designers did a lot with what they had. Many of the holes have challenging aspects- traps, greens, etc.
Friendly staff fast pace
Overall decent course friendly staff
Conditions are VERY GOOD
I haven't played here in about 15 years. I had heard that it had had a couple rough years recently, but the ownership had changed. If that is the case, they've done a great job.
The course, and especially the greens, were in very good condition. They are smooth and roll well, and the speed is good. Not too slow, and not super fast.
We played on a Saturday afternoon and the pace of play was right at 4 hours, and that was with several waits on the tee on our back 9.
I will definitely go back when I'm in the area again.
great course
Not my first time there. Each time i go its a great time . Course is in great condition and is really fun to play.
Great course
One of the best looking golf courses around for the money.
Huge rocks in bunkers!!!!
Nice course greens nice level tee boxes fairways in great condition but watch out in the bunkers very large rocks 2-3 inches in size noticed in the first hole and looked through out the whole round and most bunkers had rocks this size in them. If you stay out of the bunkers it's a nice course. If you go in I recommend pulling your ball out unless you don't care about your clubs
We'll maintained.
Golf here whenever I visit. Attitude of person checking us in was very poor. Very disappointed because new owner I met last year was very accommodating when I brought my young grandson to play.
nice course
This course was built for development of homes. Their are well manicured backyards all along the course. The course itself is wide open. A lot of 345 or 20th. Part 4's, depending on which tees you hit from. A fair amount of elevation change. Greens & course we're in good shape despite the drought.
Greens putt well, but make sure you walk each green before you putt, there are a lot of tricky ridges.
Great value
Golf now deal was terrific for this beautiful course!
Golfnow haters
We got a 1pm tee time for a day predicted to be 90+ degrees, so not a lot of people vying for that spot. Although we arrived early, we were told we couldn't go out early because that was Golfnow's policy, which was news to us. We were paired with two singles, and when I was in club house getting water, I over heard gentleman desk, telling them that they did not like Golfnow customers. That it was good for the customer, but that they take advantage of the golf course. Last I heard, course sign up themselves. We all got the vibe that we were not welcome, and felt like free loaders. Since we had not played the course before this was our way of checking it out for future reference. We can guarantee, we will never come back, no matter how nice of course it was or wasn't.
Awesome course
I've been playing this course for three years and consider it my home course. It's a beautiful course. The grounds are well maintained and the folks there will do what ever it takes to make you feel at home.
I understand business decisions, and I want the course to succeed. However, they slowed the greens a couple of years ago, and took the course from one I played about 6 or more times a year to one I played twice a year. Then, reducing par to 69....well....I mean to play it this year. (and they filled in a few dramatic bunkers on the back-now-front "hilly" 9 in front of greens) I used to see it as a fun course that you got enough tough shots to be ready to play tough courses. I don't mind that they set it up for the higher-handicappers, as that is a good business decision. But I was sad to lose the speedy greens. (If you are worried about slow play, make an "automatic 4-putt" local rule. After you hit your third putt, the next is a gimmee.)
Hidden treasure
I've lived in Spokane my entire life and have heard of prairie falls but heard it was a pretty run down course. Well that was not the case yesterday, after playing the course for the first time I was extremely impressed. Landscape, greens, difficulty, staff, you name it everything was 5 stars in my book. This is by far the best course I've played here in the inland northwest and I will be returning VERY soon:)
Jeffrey,
Glad you came out and enjoyed the golf course. We have recently added new sand to all the bunkers and they are really good now. Hope to see you tee it up again soon.
